Abstract

Described herein are compositions and methods of using placental stem cell recruiting factors, more specifically, isolated placental stem cell recruiting factors. In one embodiment, isolated placental stem cell recruiting factors are delivered to a site such as a diseased or injured organ and/or body part in an amount sufficient to recruit stem cells to the site.

Claims (14)

1. A composition comprising

a localization agent,

isolated placental stem cell recruiting factors in an amount sufficient to recruit stem cells to a diseased or injured organ or body part in vivo, and

a modified placental tissue, said modified placental tissue comprising a laminated tissue graft comprising at least two layers selected from the group consisting of amnion, chorion, and a combination thereof, said layers directly laminated to each other, wherein the modified placental tissue comprises a fibroblast cellular layer;

wherein said localization agent is selected from the group consisting of a hydrogel, a biocompatible polymer, a thixotropic agent, a phase-changing agent, and a collagen gel.

2. The composition of claim 1 , wherein said modified placental tissue is a modified tissue graft.

3. The composition of claim 1 , wherein said modified placental tissue is micronized.

4. The composition of claim 1 , wherein said composition is provided in an aqueous solution.

5. The composition of claim 1 , wherein said composition is provided in an injectable formulation.

6. The composition of claim 1 , wherein said localization agent is a thixotropic agent or a phase changing agent.

7. The composition of claim 6 , wherein said thixotropic agent is selected from the group consisting of hyaluronic acid, collagen gel, thrombin gel, fibrin gel and fibrin glue.

8. The composition of claim 6 , wherein said phase changing agent is a gel forming agent.

9. The composition of claim 8 , wherein said gel forming agent is a copolymer or tripolymer of oxyethylene and oxypropylene units.

10. The composition of claim 3 , wherein said composition is provided in an injectable formulation.
