Abstract

The present teaching relates to dynamically generating a card. In one example, a request is received for generating a card to be provided to a user. Dynamic information related to the request is obtained. One or more modules are selected to be put into the card based on the dynamic information. The card is generated based on the selected one or more modules.

Claims (77)

1. A method implemented on a machine having at least one processor, storage, and a communication platform connected to a network for generating a card, the method comprising:

cross-linking, by one or more cross-linking keys, across a private space, a semi-private space, and a public space to create a person-centric space for a user, wherein the one or more cross-linking keys are identified from the private space;

receiving a request for a card to be generated for the user;

selecting, based on a type of the card, one set of module candidates from a plurality of different sets of module candidates;

estimating an intent of the user based on an input from the user and the person-centric space;

determining a plurality of additional module candidates based on the intent;

integrating the selected one set of module candidates and the plurality of additional module candidates;

selecting dynamically, from the integrated module candidates, one or more modules to be put into the card based on a type of device operated by the user;

determining, for each module, a location within the card where the module is to be placed based on a relationship of content included in the module with content included in other modules; and

generating the card based on the selected one or more modules and the determined locations.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

obtaining, from the person-centric space, dynamic information related to the request; and

wherein the selecting of the one or more modules is based on the obtained dynamic information.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the dynamic information includes at least one of the following:

the user's demographic information;

the user's location;

the time of the user's input associated with the card;

the user's preferences regarding card modules; and

the user's behavior patterns.

4. The method claim 1 , wherein a number of modules to be included in the card is determined based on user's interaction with previously generated cards.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the one or more modules is selected based on information not related to any query, regardless whether a query is submitted by the user.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the intent is estimated further based on a query submitted by the user, and/or contextual information in a data source associated with the user.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the estimating further comprises:

receiving the input from the user at a location, wherein the input is indicative of an action,

identifying, based on the action, a list of multiple domains that are combinable with the action according to an intent space having multiple possible intents associated with the user,

selecting, based on the location, a domain from the list of multiple domains, and

estimating, based on the action and the selected domain, the intent of the user from the multiple possible intents.

8. A machine-readable, non-transitory and tangible medium having information recorded thereon for generating a card, when read by the machine, causes the machine to perform the following:

cross-linking, by one or more cross-linking keys, across a private space, a semi-private space, and a public space to create a person-centric space for a user, wherein the one or more cross-linking keys are identified from the private space;

receiving a request for a card to be generated for the user;

selecting, based on a type of the card, one set of module candidates from a plurality of different sets of module candidates;

estimating an intent of the user based on an input from the user and the person-centric space;

determining a plurality of additional module candidates based on the intent;

integrating the selected one set of module candidates and the plurality of additional module candidates;

selecting dynamically, from the integrated module candidates, one or more modules to be put into the card based on a type of device operated by the user;

determining, for each module, a location within the card where the module is to be placed based on a relationship of content included in the module with content included in other modules; and

generating the card based on the selected one or more modules and the determined locations.

9. The medium of claim 8 , further comprising:

obtaining, from the person-centric space, dynamic information related to the request; and

wherein the selecting of the one or more modules is based on the obtained dynamic information.

10. The medium of claim 9 , wherein the dynamic information includes at least one of the following:

the user's demographic information;

the user's location;

the time of the user's input associated with the card;

the user's preferences regarding card modules; and

the user's behavior patterns.

11. The medium claim 8 , wherein a number of modules to be included in the card is determined based on user's interaction with previously generated cards.

12. The medium of claim 8 , wherein at least one of the one or more modules is selected based on information not related to any query, regardless whether a query is submitted by the user.

13. The medium of claim 8 , wherein the intent is estimated based on a query submitted by the user, and/or contextual information in a data source associated with the user.

14. The medium of claim 8 , wherein the estimating further comprises:

receiving the input from the user at a location, wherein the input is indicative of an action,

identifying, based on the action, a list of multiple domains that are combinable with the action according to an intent space having multiple possible intents associated with the user,

selecting, based on the location, a domain from the list of multiple domains, and

estimating, based on the action and the selected domain, the intent of the user from the multiple possible intents.

15. A system for generating a card, the system comprising:

at least one processor configured for:

cross-linking, by one or more cross-linking keys, across a private space, a semi-private space, and a public space to create a person-centric space for a user, wherein the one or more cross-linking keys are identified from the private space;

receiving a request for a card to be generated for the user;

selecting, based on a type of the card, one set of module candidates from a plurality of different sets of module candidates;

estimating an intent of the user based on an input from the user and the person-centric space;

determining a plurality of additional module candidates based on the intent;

integrating the selected one set of module candidates and the plurality of additional module candidates;

selecting dynamically, from the integrated module candidates, one or more modules to be put into the card based on a type of device operated by the user;

determining, for each module, a location within the card where the module is to be placed based on a relationship of content included in the module with content included in other modules; and

generating the card based on the selected one or more modules and the determined locations.

16. The system of claim 15 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured for:

obtaining, from the person-centric space, dynamic information related to the request, and

wherein the selecting of the one or more modules is based on the obtained dynamic information.

17. The system of claim 16 , wherein the dynamic information includes at least one of the following:

the user's demographic information;

the user's location;

the time of the user's input associated with the card;

the user's preferences regarding card modules; and

the user's behavior patterns.

18. The system claim 15 , wherein a number of modules to be included in the card is determined based on user's interaction with previously generated cards.

19. The system of claim 15 , wherein at least one of the one or more modules is selected based on information not related to any query, regardless whether a query is submitted by the user.

20. The system of claim 15 , wherein the intent is estimated based on a query submitted by the user, and/or contextual information in a data source associated with the user.
