Latexes with phosphoric acid functional resin particles
View Patent ↗Latex compositions are provided. In embodiments, a latex comprises water and resin particles. The resin particles comprise a polymerization product of reactants comprising one or more types of hydrophobic monomers and one or more types of acidic monomers comprising one or more types of phosphoric acid monomers, wherein a total amount of polymerized acidic monomers in the resin particles is at least about 8 weight % and a total amount of polymerized phosphoric acid monomers in the resin particles is at least about 2 weight %.
1. A latex comprising water and resin particles consisting of a polymerization product of reactants consisting of styrene; butyl acrylate; one or both of phosphoric acid 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate ester and bis[2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl] phosphate; methacrylic acid; an anionic ether sulfate reactive surfactant; a chain transfer agent; an initiator; and optionally, one or both of dioxane/dioxolane monomers and multifunctional monomers.
2. The latex of claim 1 , wherein the latex does not comprise a colorant.
3. The latex of claim 1 , wherein the latex does not comprise boric acid, diglycolic acid, a chelating agent, or combinations thereof.
