Abstract

A golf club head includes: a striking face including a front surface configured to strike a golf ball and a rear surface opposite to the front surface; a periphery portion surrounding and extending rearwards from the striking face; a cavity at least partially enclosed by the striking face and the periphery portion; a support arm extending at least partially through the cavity from the periphery portion and being spaced apart from the rear surface of the striking face; a first damping element between a first side of the support arm and the rear surface of the striking face; and a second damping element on a second side of the support arm opposite to the first side of the support arm.

Claims (14)

1. A golf club head, comprising:

a striking face comprising a front surface configured to strike a golf ball and a rear surface opposite to the front surface;

a sole extending rearwards from a bottom of the striking face to a distal edge of the sole;

a periphery portion surrounding and extending rearwards from the striking face, the periphery portion comprising the sole;

a cavity at least partially enclosed by the striking face and the periphery portion;

a first support arm extending at least partially through the cavity from the periphery portion and being spaced apart from the rear surface of the striking face;

a first damping element positioned between the rear surface of the striking face and the first support arm, wherein the first damping element is spaced apart in the cavity from the sole;

a second support arm extending partially through the cavity from the distal edge of the sole to a distal end of the second support arm that is spaced apart from the periphery portion, wherein the second support arm is spaced apart from, and positioned entirely rearward from, the first support arm, the first support arm being between the second support arm and the striking face; and

a second damping element spaced apart from the periphery portion and positioned between the distal end of the second support arm and the first support arm, wherein the second damping element is spaced apart in the cavity from the sole,

wherein the second support arm comprises an arm portion extending from the distal edge of the sole along a primary extension axis to a distal portion of the second support arm that defines the distal end of the second support arm, the primary extension axis corresponding to a primary direction of extension of the second support arm and intersecting the second damping element, the first support arm, the first damping element, and the striking face.

2. The golf club head of claim 1 , wherein the golf club head is an iron-type golf club head comprising the sole, a topline extending rearwards from a top of the striking face, and a back portion coupled between the sole and the topline,

wherein the periphery portion comprises the sole, the topline, and the back portion.

3. The golf club head of claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of the first support arm is positioned between the first damping element and the second damping element.

4. The golf club head of claim 1 , wherein the first damping element comprises a first polymer and the second damping element comprises a second polymer different from the first polymer.
