Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure includes systems for and methods of preventing corruption of user profiles. A method falling within the disclosure includes: generating a set of rules for a first user profile based on a history of user interactions with a plurality of internet content items tracked while an application on a user device was logged into the first user profile; receiving a user interface interaction with an internet content item; and based on the set of rules, determining that the user interface interaction with the internet content item is not consistent with the history of user interface interactions with the plurality of internet content items tracked for the first user profile; and based on the determining: providing for output an option to log the application on the user device into a second user profile.

Claims (67)

1 . A method comprising:

receiving a user interface interaction with at least one internet content item while the application on the user device is logged into the first user profile; and

based at least in part on the first set of rules, determining that the user interface interaction with the at least one internet content item is not consistent with the history of user interface interactions with the plurality of internet content items tracked for the first user profile; and

based at least in part on the determining:

providing for output an option to log the application on the user device into a second user profile.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

based at least in part on the first set of rules, determining the user interface interaction with the at least one internet content item is consistent with the first user profile:

updating the first user profile to include the at least one internet content item in the history of user interface interactions with the plurality of internet content items; and

updating the first set of rules for the first user profile based on the updated first user profile.

3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising storing the first set of rules for the first user profile.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein generating the first set of rules for the first user profile based on the history of user interface interactions with the plurality of internet content items tracked while the application on the user device was logged into the first user profile comprises:

retrieving one or more metadata tags for each of the plurality of internet content items;

determining one or more trends in the one or more metadata tags for each of the plurality of internet content items; and

determining the first set of rules based on the one or more trends.

5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

in response to receiving an input to log the application on the user device into the second user profile:

changing the first user profile to the second user profile; and

updating a second set of rules for the second user profile.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein providing for output the option to log the application on the user device into the second user profile further comprises providing for output another option to interact with the at least one internet content without updating the first set of rules.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein determining that the user interface interaction with the at least one internet content item is not consistent with the history of user interface interactions with the plurality of internet content items tracked for the first user profile comprises:

detecting that a metadata of the at least one internet content item does not match a metadata of the first user profile; and

identifying the at least one internet content item as a corrupting internet content item for the first user profile.

8 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

transmitting a notification to the user device to indicate that the at least one internet content item has not been included in the first user profile.

9 . A system comprising:

control circuitry configured to:

generate a first set of rules for a first user profile based on a history of user interface interactions with a plurality of internet content items tracked while an application on a user device was logged into the first user profile;

input/output circuitry configured to:

receive a user interface interaction with at least one internet content item while the application on the user device is logged into the first user profile; and

wherein the control circuitry is further configured to:

based at least in part on the first set of rules, determine that the user interface interaction with the at least one internet content item is not consistent with the history of user interface interactions with the plurality of internet content items tracked for the first user profile; and

wherein the input/output circuitry is further configured to:

based at least in part on the determining, provide for output an option to log the application on the user device into a second user profile.

10 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to:

based at least in part on the first set of rules, determine the user interface interaction with the at least one internet content item is consistent with the first user profile:

update the first user profile to include the at least one internet content item in the history of user interface interactions with the plurality of internet content items; and

update the first set of rules for the first user profile based on the updated first user profile.

11 . The system of claim 9 , further comprising storage circuitry configured to store the first set of rules for the first user profile.

12 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the control circuitry configured to generate the first set of rules for the first user profile based on the history of user interface interactions with the plurality of internet content items tracked while the application on the user device was logged into the first user profile is further configured to:

retrieve one or more metadata tags for each of the plurality of internet content items;

determine one or more trends in the one or more metadata tags for each of the plurality of internet content items; and

determine the first set of rules based on the one or more trends.

13 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to:

in response to receiving an input to log the application on the user device into the second user profile:

change the first user profile to the second user profile; and

update a second set of rules for the second user profile.

14 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the input/output circuitry configured to provide for output the option to log the application on the user device into the second user profile is further configured to provide for output another option to interact with the at least one internet content without updating the first set of rules.

15 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the control circuitry configured to determine that the user interface interaction with the at least one internet content item is not consistent with the history of user interface interactions with the plurality of internet content items tracked for the first user profile is further configured to:

detect that a metadata of the at least one internet content item does not match a metadata of the first user profile; and

identify the at least one internet content item as a corrupting internet content item for the first user profile.

16 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the input/output circuitry is further configured to:

transmit a notification to the user device to indicate that the at least one internet content item has not been included in the first user profile.

17 . A non-transitory computer readable medium having instructions encoded thereon that, when executed by control circuitry, cause the control circuitry to:

generate a first set of rules for a first user profile based on a history of user interface interactions with a plurality of internet content items tracked while an application on a user device was logged into the first user profile;

receive a user interface interaction with at least one internet content item while the application on the user device is logged into the first user profile; and
