Abstract

Disclosed herein are various embodiments directed to a device for minimally invasive medical treatment. The device being a hollow tube with a first end, a second end, and one or more anchors configured to extend outward from the exterior of the hollow tube. The hollow tube having a plurality of cutouts on the exterior, wherein the cutouts allow the hollow tube to be flexible. Additionally, the hollow tube may have at least one snap mechanism configured to connect the first end and the second end together.

Claims (26)

1 . An annuloplasty ring comprising:

a hollow tube with a first end and a second end, wherein the first end is configured to couple to the second end; and

an anchor rail disposed within the hollow tube and comprising a body, a plurality of anchors configured to extend outward from the hollow tube to anchor to tissue of a native heart valve, and an anchor stop mechanism having at least one projection,

wherein the anchor stop mechanism is biased to transition between a contracted position in which the at least one projection moves toward the body of the anchor rail and an extended position in which the at least one projection extends away from the body of the anchor rail and interfaces with the hollow tube.

2 . The annuloplasty ring of claim 1 , wherein the anchor stop mechanism is configured to prevent movement of the anchor rail with respect to the hollow tube when the at least one projection interfaces with the hollow tube.

3 . The annuloplasty ring of claim 1 , wherein the hollow tube comprises a window and the at least one projection is configured to extend into the window of the hollow tube when the anchor stop mechanism is in the extended position.

4 . The annuloplasty ring of claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of windows disposed in an exterior of the hollow tube.

5 . The annuloplasty ring of claim 4 , wherein the plurality of anchors are configured to extend through the plurality of windows of the hollow tube.

6 . The annuloplasty ring of claim 1 , wherein the anchor stop mechanism is mechanical communication with a suture and the suture is configured to cause the at least one projection to transition between the contracted position and the extended position.

7 . The annuloplasty ring of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of anchors are disposed along a length of the anchor rail.

8 . The annuloplasty ring of claim 1 , further comprising a snapping mechanism comprising a male part and a female part configured to couple to one another, the snapping mechanism configured to couple to the hollow tube to connect the first end and the second end of the hollow tube.

9 . The annuloplasty ring of claim 8 , wherein one or more of the male part or the female part of the snapping mechanism is coupled to the hollow tube via a suture pin configured to interface with a suture.

10 . The annuloplasty ring of claim 1 , wherein the anchor stop mechanism further comprises a connecting strut and the at least one projection extends from the body of the anchor rail via the connecting strut.

11 . An annuloplasty ring system comprising:

a hollow tube with a first end and a second end, wherein the first end is configured to couple to the second end;

an anchor rail disposed within the hollow tube and comprising a body, a plurality of anchors configured to extend outward from the hollow tube to anchor to tissue of a native heart valve, and an anchor stop mechanism having at least one projection configured to engage the hollow tube;

a suture in mechanical communication with the anchor rail and configured to cause the at least one projection to disengage from the hollow tube; and

wherein the anchor stop mechanism is biased to transition between a contracted position in which the at least one projection moves toward the body of the anchor rail and an extended position in which the at least one projection extends away from the body of the anchor rail and engages the hollow tube.

12 . The annuloplasty ring system of claim 11 , wherein the anchor stop mechanism is configured to prevent movement of the anchor rail with respect to the hollow tube when the at least one projection engages the hollow tube.

13 . The annuloplasty ring system of claim 12 , wherein the hollow tube comprises a window and the at least one projection is configured to extend into the window of the hollow tube to engage with the hollow tube.

14 . The annuloplasty ring system of claim 11 , further comprising a plurality of windows disposed in an exterior of the hollow tube.

15 . The annuloplasty ring system of claim 14 , wherein the plurality of anchors are configured to extend through the plurality of windows of the hollow tube.

16 . The annuloplasty ring system of claim 11 , wherein the plurality of anchors are disposed along a length of the anchor rail.

17 . The annuloplasty ring system of claim 11 , further comprising a snapping mechanism comprising a male part and a female part configured to couple to one another, the snapping mechanism configured to couple to the hollow tube to connect the first end and the second end of the hollow tube.

18 . The annuloplasty ring system of claim 17 , wherein one or more of the male part or the female part of the snapping mechanism is coupled to the hollow tube via a suture pin configured to interface with a suture.

19 . The annuloplasty ring system of claim 11 , wherein the anchor stop mechanism further comprises a connecting strut and the at least one projection extends from the body of the anchor rail via the connecting strut.
