Creatine and/or creatinine compositions and related methods
The disclosure is directed to methods related to creatinine, for example, a method for its safe administration to a human.
. A method of safely administering creatinine to a subject in need thereof, said method comprising co-administering an effective amount of creatinine with an effective amount of creatine and an effective amount of a nitrate (NO3-) source selected from sodium nitrate, potassium nitrate, or creatine nitrate to the subject.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the effective amount of creatinine is at least 500 mg.
. The method of claim 2 , wherein the effective amount of creatine is at least 500 mg and the effective amount of nitrate (NO3-) is at least 50 mg.
. The method of claim 2 , wherein the effective amount of nitrate (NO3 − ) is between 50 mg and 1200 mg nitrate (NO 3 − ).
. The method of claim 2 , wherein the effective amount of nitrate (NO 3 − ) is between 50 mg and 1500 mg nitrate (NO 3 − ).
. The method of claim 2 , wherein the effective amount of nitrate (NO 3 − ) is between 60 mg and 1500 mg nitrate (NO 3 − ).
. The method of claim 2 , wherein the effective amount of nitrate (NO 3 − ) is between 60 mg and 1200 mg nitrate (NO 3 − ).
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the effective amount of creatinine is at least 1000 mg.
. The method of claim 8 , wherein the effective amount of creatine is at least 1000 mg and the effective amount of nitrate (NO3-) is at least 100 mg.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the effective amount of creatinine is at least 2 g.
. The method of claim 10 , wherein the effective amount of creatine is at least 2 g and the effective amount of nitrate (NO3-) is at least 500 mg.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the effective amount of creatinine is at least 3 g.
. The method of claim 12 , wherein the effective amount of creatine is at least 5 g and the effective amount of nitrate (NO3-) is at least 1000 mg.
. The method of claim 12 , comprising 3 g of creatinine and 3 g of creatine nitrate.
. The method of claim 12 , comprising 5 g of creatinine and 5 g of creatine nitrate.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the molar ratio of the amount of nitrate (NO 3 − ) to the amount of creatinine is one of between about 20:1 and about 1:9, between about 10:1 and about 1:1, between about 3:1 and about 1:3, and between about 2:1 and about 1:4.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the co-administration of creatinine, creatine, and nitrate (NO3-) causes no clinically significant elevation in liver enzymes or clinically significant reduction in estimated glomerular filtration rate.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the effective amount of creatinine can be administered safely for a period of 5 days or longer.
