Abstract

The wire fed or pulled back from the reel by the feeding unit can be properly restricted. The invention relates to a binding machine ( 2 ) having a feeding unit ( 16 ) for feeding out a wire ( 3 ) from a reel ( 12 ) provided in a housing unit ( 11 ). With respect to the entering route ( 81 ) of the wire ( 3 ) when the wire ( 3 ) drawn out from the reel ( 12 ) by the feeding unit ( 16 ) is guided to the feeding unit ( 83 ), the first restriction unit ( 83 ) that restricts the drawing portion ( 3 a ) of the wire ( 3 ) disposed between the reel ( 12 ) and the feeding unit ( 16 ) from being deviating from the entering route ( 81 ) is provided inside the housing unit ( 11 ).

Claims (24)

1 . A binding machine comprising:

a wire feeding unit that is capable of feeding a wire from a wire reel which has a tubular hub, the tubular hub being rotatably supported on a main body of the binding machine, the tubular hub including a rotation axis;

a curl arm that plastically deforms the wire fed out from the wire feeding unit to form a circle locus, the curl arm including a wire passage through which the wire fed out from the wire feeding unit passes;

a curl guide having a receiving groove that extends in a direction parallel with the wire passage and that picks up the wire which is plastically deformed by the curl arm; and

a twisting unit that twists the wire to bind a binding object after winding the wire which is plastically deformed by the curl arm, around the binding object,

wherein a plane is defined by a center of the wire passage in the curl arm in a rotation axis direction of the hub,

wherein a cross section is defined by cutting through a center point of the hub in a direction parallel with the plane, the center point of the hub being located at a midpoint along the rotation axis of the hub,

wherein the cross section is offset from the plane in a first direction along the rotation axis of the hub, and a center position of the receiving groove in the rotation axis direction is offset from the plane in a second direction along the rotation axis of the hub, the first direction being opposite to the second direction.

2 . The binding machine according to claim 1 , wherein the plane is provided at substantially the same location as a cross section formed by cutting through an axial end portion of the hub in the direction parallel with the plane.

3 . The binding machine according to claim 1 , wherein the wire is a set of a plurality of wires and is fed out substantially concurrently.

4 . The binding machine according to claim 2 , wherein the wire is a set of a plurality of wires and is fed out substantially concurrently.

5 . The binding machine according to claim 1 , wherein the plane and the cross section are substantially orthogonal to the rotation axis of the hub.

6 . The binding machine according to claim 1 ,

wherein the twisting unit includes a first hook and a second hook which is rotatable with respect to the first hook to open and close, and

wherein the first hook and the second hook close and hold the wire fed by the wire feeding unit therebetween.

7 . The binding machine according to claim 1 ,

wherein the twisting unit includes a center hook, and first and second side hooks which are rotatable with respect to the center hook to open and close with respect to the center hook, and

wherein the center hook and the first side hook close and hold the wire fed by the wire feeding unit therebetween and the center hook and the second side hook close and hold the wire picked up by the curl guide therebetween.

8 . The binding machine according to claim 1 , further comprising:

a housing that houses the wire reel,

wherein the wire feeding unit is capable of feeding the wire in a first direction from the wire reel housed in the housing and pulling back the fed wire in a second direction opposite to the first direction toward the wire reel, and

wherein the housing has a wall defining an inner space of the housing and is provided with an abrasion prevention unit which prevents abrasion of the wall due to contact of the wire.

9 . The binding machine according to claim 8 , wherein the abrasion prevention unit includes a metal member.

10 . The binding machine according to claim 8 , wherein the abrasion prevention unit protrudes from the wall toward inside of the housing.
