Abstract

A master communication device causes a slave communication device connected to the master communication device to perform a distance measurement communication for measuring a distance between a terminal and a vehicle that wirelessly communicates with the terminal. The master communication device notifies a controller connected to the master communication device of a first result of the distance measurement communication performed by the slave communication device. The master communication device further notifies the controller of a second result of the distance measurement communication performed by the master communication device. The vehicle is permitted to be actuated in response to any one of the first result or the second result indicating that the distance is valid.

Claims (29)

1 . A master communication device, comprising:

hardware processing circuitry; and

at least one memory storing instructions that, when executed by the hardware processing circuitry, cause the hardware processing circuitry to perform operations, the operations including:

causing a slave communication device connected to the master communication device to perform a first distance measurement communication for measuring a distance between a terminal and a vehicle through a wireless communication between the terminal and the slave communication device;

causing the master communication device to perform a second distance measurement communication for measuring a distance between the terminal and the vehicle through a wireless communication between the terminal and the master communication device;

receiving, at the master communication device, a first result of the first distance measurement communication performed by the slave communication device and notifying, from the master communication device, a controller of the first result; and

notifying, from the master communication device, the controller of a second result of the second distance measurement communication performed by the master communication device;

wherein only the master communication device of the master communication device and the slave communication device is configured to communicate with the controller, and

wherein actuation of the vehicle is permitted in response to any one of the first result or the second result indicating that the distance is valid.

2 . The master communication device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the master communication device is connected between the slave communication device and the controller.

3 . The master communication device according to claim 1 ,

wherein only the master communication device of the master communication device and the slave communication device includes an interface configured to communicate with the controller.

4 . The master communication device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the operations further include:

receiving a distance measurement request from the controller; and

controlling actuation of the slave communication device by notifying the slave communication device of the distance measurement request.

5 . The master communication device according to claim 4 ,

wherein the slave communication device is one of a plurality of slave communication devices,

the operations further include:

controlling when the plurality of slave communication devices are actuated by notifying the plurality of slave communication devices of the distance measurement request at different times.

6 . The master communication device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the master communication device is arranged inside a compartment of the vehicle.

7 . The master communication device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the slave communication device is arranged outside a compartment of the vehicle.

8 . The master communication device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the actuation of the vehicle is prohibited in response to all of the first result or the second result indicating that the distance is invalid.

9 . The master communication device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the controller invalidates a result of authentication of the terminal in response to all of the first result or the second result indicating that the distance is invalid.
