Abstract

Provided are a polycyclic compound represented by Formula 1, an organic light-emitting device including the polycyclic compound, and an electronic apparatus including the organic light-emitting device: Formula 1 may be understood by referring to the description of Formula 1 provided herein.

Claims (60)

1 . A polycyclic compound represented by one of Formulae 1-2 to 1-5:

wherein, in Formulae 1-2 to 1-5, 2 and 3,

X 1 is B, P, P(═O), or N,

X 2 is O or S,

Y 1 and Y 2 are each independently N or B,

E 1 is a group represented by Formula 2,

a2 to a5 are each independently an integer from 0 to 3, and the sum of a2, a3, a4, and a5 is 1 or greater,

L 21 is a substituted or unsubstituted C 1 -C 20 alkylene group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 5 -C 60 carbocyclic group, or a substituted or unsubstituted C 1 -C 60 heterocyclic group,

n21 is an integer from 0 to 5,

F 1 is a group represented by Formula 3,

is 0 or 1, b3 is 1, and the sum of b2, and b3 is 1 or greater,

L 31 is a substituted or unsubstituted C 5 -C 60 carbocyclic group or a substituted or unsubstituted C 1 -C 60 heterocyclic group,

n31 is an integer from 0 to 3,

X 31 is C(R 31 ) or N, X 32 is C(R 32 ) or N, X 33 is C(R 33 ) or N, X 34 is C(R 34 ) or N, X 35 is C(R 35 ) or N, X 36 is C(R 36 ) or N, X 37 is C(R 37 ) or N, and X 38 is C(R 38 ) or N,

R 11 to R 15 , and R 31 to R 38 are each independently hydrogen, deuterium, —F, —Cl, —Br, —I, —SF 5 , a hydroxyl group, a cyano group, a nitro group, an amidino group, a hydrazine group, a hydrazone group, a carboxylic acid group or a salt thereof, a sulfonic acid group or a salt thereof, a phosphoric acid group or a salt thereof, a substituted or unsubstituted C 1 -C 60 alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 2 -C 60 alkenyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 2 -C 60 alkynyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 1 -C 60 alkoxy group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 3 -C 10 cycloalkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 1 -C 10 heterocycloalkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 3 -C 10 cycloalkenyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 1 -C 10 heterocycloalkenyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 6 -C 60 aryl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 6 -C 60 aryloxy group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 6 -C 60 arylthio group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 6 -C 60 arylalkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 1 -C 60 heteroaryl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 1 -C 60 heteroaryloxy group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 1 -C 60 heteroarylthio group, a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent non-aromatic condensed polycyclic group, a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent non-aromatic condensed heteropolycyclic group, —N(Q 1 )(Q 2 ), —Si(Q 3 )(Q 4 )(Q 5 ), —B(Q 6 )(Q 7 ), or —P(═O)(Q 8 )(Q 9 ),

two adjacent groups of R 31 to R 38 are optionally bound to form a substituted or unsubstituted C 5 -C 30 carbocyclic group or a substituted or unsubstituted C 1 -C 30 heterocyclic group,

c11 to c15 are each independently an integer from 1 to 10,

a substituent of each of the substituted C 1 -C 20 alkylene group, the substituted C 5 -C 60 carbocyclic group, the substituted C 1 -C 60 heterocyclic group, the substituted C 1 -C 60 alkyl group, the substituted C 2 -C 60 alkenyl group, the substituted C 2 -C 60 alkynyl group, the substituted C 1 -C 60 alkoxy group, the substituted C 3 -C 10 cycloalkyl group, the substituted C 1 -C 10 heterocycloalkyl group, the substituted C 3 -C 10 cycloalkenyl group, the substituted C 1 -C 10 heterocycloalkenyl group, the substituted C 6 -C 60 aryl group, the substituted C 6 -C 60 aryloxy group, the substituted C 6 -C 60 arylthio group, the substituted C 6 -C 60 aryl alkyl group, the substituted C 1 -C 60 heteroaryl group, the substituted C 1 -C 60 heteroaryloxy group, the substituted C 1 -C 60 heteroarylthio group, the substituted monovalent non-aromatic condensed polycyclic group, the substituted monovalent non-aromatic condensed heteropolycyclic group, the substituted C 5 -C 30 carbocyclic group, and the substituted C 1 -C 30 heterocyclic group is:

deuterium, —F, —Cl, —Br, —I, —CD 3 , —CD 2 H, —CDH 2 , —CF 3 , —CF 2 H, —CFH 2 , a hydroxyl group, a cyano group, a nitro group, an amidino group, a hydrazine group, a hydrazone group, a carboxylic acid group or a salt thereof, a sulfonic acid group or a salt thereof, or a phosphoric acid group or a salt thereof;

a C 1 -C 60 alkyl group, a C 2 -C 60 alkenyl group, a C 2 -C 60 alkynyl group, or a C 1 -C 60 alkoxy group, each unsubstituted or substituted with deuterium, —F, —Cl, —Br, —I, —CD 3 , —CD 2 H, —CDH 2 , —CF 3 , —CF 2 H, —CFH 2 , a hydroxyl group, a cyano group, a nitro group, an amidino group, a hydrazine group, a hydrazone group, a carboxylic acid group or a salt thereof, a sulfonic acid group or a salt thereof, a phosphoric acid group or a salt thereof, a C 3 -C 10 cycloalkyl group, a C 1 -C 10 heterocycloalkyl group, a C 3 -C 10 cycloalkenyl group, a C 1 -C 10 heterocycloalkenyl group, a C 6 -C 60 aryl group, a C 6 -C 60 aryloxy group, a C 6 -C 60 arylthio group, a C 1 -C 60 heteroaryl group, a monovalent non-aromatic condensed polycyclic group, a monovalent non-aromatic condensed heteropolycyclic group, —N(Q 11 )(Q 12 ), —Si(Q 13 )(Q 14 )(Q 15 ), —B(Q 16 )(Q 17 ), —P(═O)(Q 18 )(Q 19 ), or any combination thereof,

a C 3 -C 10 cycloalkyl group, a C 1 -C 10 heterocycloalkyl group, a C 3 -C 10 cycloalkenyl group, a C 1 -C 10 heterocycloalkenyl group, a C 6 -C 60 aryl group, a C 6 -C 60 aryloxy group, a C 6 -C 60 arylthio group, a C 1 -C 60 heteroaryl group, a monovalent non-aromatic condensed polycyclic group, or a monovalent non-aromatic condensed heteropolycyclic group, each unsubstituted or substituted with deuterium, —F, —Cl, —Br, —I, —CD 3 , —CD 2 H, —CDH 2 , —CF 3 , —CF 2 H, —CFH 2 , a hydroxyl group, a cyano group, a nitro group, an amidino group, a hydrazine group, a hydrazone group, a carboxylic acid group or a salt thereof, a sulfonic acid group or a salt thereof, a phosphoric acid group or a salt thereof, a C 1 -C 60 alkyl group, a C 2 -C 60 alkenyl group, a C 2 -C 60 alkynyl group, a C 1 -C 60 alkoxy group, a C 3 -C 10 cycloalkyl group, a C 1 -C 10 heterocycloalkyl group, a C 3 -C 10 cycloalkenyl group, a C 1 -C 10 heterocycloalkenyl group, a C 6 -C 60 aryl group, a C 6 -C 60 aryloxy group, a C 6 -C 60 arylthio group, a C 1 -C 60 heteroaryl group, a monovalent non-aromatic condensed polycyclic group, a monovalent non-aromatic condensed heteropolycyclic group, —N(Q 21 )(Q 22 ), —Si(Q 23 )(Q 24 )(Q 25 ), —B(Q 26 )(Q 27 ), —P(═O)(Q 28 )(Q 29 ), or any combination thereof,

N(Q 31 )(Q 32 ), —Si(Q 33 )(Q 34 )(Q 35 ), —B(Q 36 )(Q 37 ), or —P(═O)(Q 38 )(Q 39 ); or

any combination thereof,

wherein Q 1 to Q 9 , Q 11 to Q 19 , Q 21 to Q 29 , and Q 31 to Q 39 are each independently: hydrogen; deuterium; —F; —Cl; —Br; —I; a hydroxyl group; a cyano group; a nitro group; an amidino group; a hydrazine group; a hydrazone group; a carboxylic acid group or a salt thereof, a sulfonic acid group or a salt thereof, a phosphoric acid group or a salt thereof, a C 1 -C 60 alkyl group unsubstituted or substituted with deuterium, a C 1 -C 60 alkyl group, a C 6 -C 60 aryl group, or any combination thereof, a C 2 -C 60 alkenyl group; a C 2 -C 60 alkynyl group; a C 1 -C 60 alkoxy group; a C 3 -C 10 cycloalkyl group; a C 1 -C 10 heterocycloalkyl group; a C 3 -C 10 cycloalkenyl group; a C 1 -C 10 heterocycloalkenyl group; a C 6 -C 60 aryl group unsubstituted or substituted with deuterium, a C 1 -C 60 alkyl group, a C 6 -C 60 aryl group, or any combination thereof; a C 6 -C 60 aryloxy group; a C 6 -C 60 arylthio group; a C 1 -C 60 heteroaryl group; a monovalent non-aromatic condensed polycyclic group; or a monovalent non-aromatic condensed heteropoly cyclic group, and

* indicates a binding site to an adjacent atom.

2 . The polycyclic compound of claim 1 , wherein

i) X 1 is B, P, or P(═O), and Y 1 and Y 2 are each independently; or

ii) X 1 is N, and Y 1 and Y 2 are each independently N or B.

3 . The polycyclic compound of claim 1 , wherein X 31 is C(R 31 ), X 32 is C(R 32 ), X 33 is C(R 33 ), X 34 is C(R 34 ), X 35 is C(R 35 ), X 36 is C(R 36 ), X 37 is C(R 37 ), and X 38 is C(R 38 ).

4 . The polycyclic compound of claim 1 , wherein R 11 to R 15 , and R 31 to R 38 are each independently:

hydrogen, deuterium, —F, —Cl, —Br, —I, a hydroxyl group, a cyano group, a nitro group, an amidino group, a hydrazine group, a hydrazone group, a carboxylic acid group or a salt thereof, a sulfonic acid group or a salt thereof, or a phosphoric acid group or a salt thereof;

a C 1 -C 20 alkyl group or a C 1 -C 20 alkoxy group, each unsubstituted or substituted with deuterium, —F, —Cl, —Br, —I, a hydroxyl group, a cyano group, a nitro group, an amidino group, a hydrazine group, a hydrazone group, a carboxylic acid group or a salt thereof, a sulfonic acid group or a salt thereof, a phosphoric acid group or a salt thereof, a phenyl group, a biphenyl group, a terphenyl group, a naphthyl group, a fluorenyl group, a pyridinyl group, a pyrimidinyl group, a triazinyl group, a quinolinyl group, an isoquinolinyl group, a carbazolyl group, a dibenzofuranyl group, a dibenzothiophenyl group, —N(Q 34 )(Q 35 ), or any combination thereof;

—N(Q 1 )(Q 2 ),

wherein Q 1 , Q 2 , Q 34 , and Q 35 are each independently: a C 1 -C 10 alkyl group; a C 1 -C 10 alkoxy group; a phenyl group, a biphenyl group, a terphenyl group, or a naphthyl group, each unsubstituted or substituted with deuterium, a C 1 -C 10 alkyl group, a phenyl group, or any combination thereof.

5 . The polycyclic compound of claim 1 , wherein the polycyclic compound is represented by Formulae 1-2A:

wherein, in Formulae-1-2A,

Z 11a to Z 11f are each independently R 11 or E 1 ,

Z 12a to Z 12d are each independently R 12 or E 1 ,

Z 13a to Z 12e are each independently R 13 or E 1 ,

Z 14a to Z 14e are each independently R 14 or E 1 ,

Z 15a to Z 15e are each independently R 15 or E 1 ,

at least one of Z 11a to Z 11f , Z 12a to Z 12d , Z 13a , Z 13b , Z 14a to Z 14e , and Z 15a to Z 15e in Formula 1-2A is E 1 , and

X 1 , Y 1 , Y 2 , E 1 , R 11 to R 15 , and X 31 to X 38 are respectively understood by referring to the descriptions of X 1 , Y 1 , Y 2 , E 1 , R 11 to R 15 , and X 31 to X 38 in claim 1 .

6 . A polycyclic compound, represented by at least one of the following Compounds:

7 . An organic light-emitting device comprising:

a first electrode;

a second electrode; and

an organic layer between the first electrode and the second electrode and comprising an emission layer,

wherein the organic layer comprises at least one polycyclic compound of claim 1 .

8 . The organic light-emitting device of claim 7 , wherein the at least one polycyclic compound is included in the emission layer.

9 . The organic light-emitting device of claim 8 , wherein the emission layer comprises a host and a dopant, and the dopant comprises the at least one polycyclic compound.

10 . The organic light-emitting device of claim 8 , wherein the emission layer emits blue light.

11 . The organic light-emitting device of claim 7 , wherein the first electrode is an anode,

the second electrode is a cathode,

the organic layer comprises a hole transport region between the first electrode and the emission layer and an electron transport region between the emission layer and the second electrode,

wherein the hole transport region comprises a hole injection layer, a hole transport layer, an electron blocking layer, or any combination thereof, and

the electron transport region comprises a hole blocking layer, an electron transport layer, an electron injection layer, or any combination thereof.

12 . An electronic apparatus comprising the organic light-emitting device of claim 7 .
