Filter assemblies, depth indicators, torque-limiting fittings, torque-indicating fittings, and systems incorporating the same
In some examples, a filter assembly may include a filter including a first gasket having a first channel adjacent to a first side of the filter and a second gasket having a second channel adjacent to a second side of the filter. The first gasket and the second gasket may include a beveled surface adjacent to the filter. The first channel and the second channel may include a diameter of from about 0.01 mm to about 0.5 mm. A finger tightening system may securely hold the filter without any leaks.
1 . A torque-limiting fitting comprising:
a driven coupler including:
a sealing region; and
a plurality of driven teeth located on a circular end surface that is orthogonal to a central axis of the driven coupler and including, in a sealing direction of the driven coupler, a sloped rotationally trailing surface; and
a driving collar including:
a plurality of driving teeth positioned to engage with the plurality of driven teeth as the driving collar is rotated,
wherein at least one driving tooth of the plurality of driving teeth includes a substantially flat portion that is orthogonal to the central axis of the driven coupler, and
wherein the substantially flat portion is engageable with a corresponding flat portion between adjacently disposed driven teeth.
2 . The torque-limiting fitting of claim 1 , further comprising:
a resilient member adjacent to the driving collar.
3 . The torque-limiting fitting of claim 2 , further comprising:
a thumbpiece covering at least the driving collar and the resilient member, the thumbpiece including:
a recess accommodating the driving collar and the resilient member; and
at least one advancement-limiting feature adapted and configured to limit axial movement of the thumbpiece.
4 . The torque-limiting fitting of claim 1 , wherein the sealing region includes helical threads.
5 . The torque-limiting fitting of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of driving teeth have an asymmetric profile rotationally opposite to the plurality of driven teeth.
6 . The torque-limiting fitting of claim 1 , wherein the driving collar further includes at least one axial collar-alignment feature.
7 . The torque-limiting fitting of claim 6 , wherein the at least one axial collar-alignment feature is located radially outer from or inner to the plurality of driving teeth.
8 . The torque-limiting fitting of claim 3 , wherein the at least one advancement-limiting feature includes a stop shoulder.
9 . The torque-limiting fitting of claim 3 , wherein the thumbpiece and the driven coupler further include complementary features to hold the thumbpiece and the driven coupler together with the driving collar and the resilient member held between.
10 . The torque-limiting fitting of claim 3 , wherein the thumbpiece further includes at least one axial thumbpiece-alignment feature complementary to at least one axial collar-alignment feature.
11 . A torque-indicating fitting comprising:
a driven coupler including a plurality of driven teeth located on a circular end surface that is orthogonal to a central axis of the driven coupler; and
a torque-indicating driving collar including:
a plurality of driving teeth positioned to engage with the plurality of driven teeth as the torque-indicating driving collar is rotated; and
at least one torque-indicating tooth positioned adjacent to at least one driving tooth to engage with at least one driven tooth as the torque-indicating driving collar is rotated,
wherein the at least one driving tooth of the plurality of driving teeth includes a substantially flat portion that is orthogonal to the central axis of the driven coupler, and
wherein the substantially flat portion is engageable with a corresponding flat portion between adjacently disposed driven teeth.
12 . The torque-indicating fitting of claim 11 , further comprising:
a resilient member adjacent to the torque-indicating driving collar; and
a thumbpiece covering at least the torque-indicating driving collar and the resilient member, the thumbpiece including:
a recess accommodating the torque-indicating driving collar and the resilient member; and
at least one advancement-limiting feature adapted and configured to limit axial movement of the thumbpiece.
13 . The torque-indicating fitting of claim 11 , wherein the torque-indicating driving collar further includes at least one axial collar-alignment feature.
14 . The torque-indicating fitting of claim 13 , wherein the at least one axial collar-alignment feature is located radially outer from or inner to the plurality of driving teeth.
15 . The torque-indicating fitting of claim 12 , wherein the at least one advancement-limiting feature includes a stop shoulder.
16 . The torque-indicating fitting of claim 12 , wherein the thumbpiece and the driven coupler further include complementary features to hold the thumbpiece and the driven coupler together with the torque-indicating driving collar and the resilient member held between.
17 . The torque-indicating fitting of claim 16 , wherein the complementary features include:
a thumbpiece protrusion and a driven coupler protrusion.
18 . The torque-indicating fitting of claim 12 , wherein the thumbpiece further includes at least one axial thumbpiece-alignment feature complementary to at least one axial collar-alignment feature.
19 . A torque-limiting fitting comprising:
a driven coupler including:
a sealing region; and
a plurality of driven teeth located on a radially outer surface of the driven coupler and including, in a sealing direction of the driven coupler, a sloped rotationally trailing surface; and
a driving collar including:
a plurality of driving teeth positioned to engage with the plurality of driven teeth as the driving collar is rotated,
wherein at least one driving tooth of the plurality of driving teeth includes a portion that is orthogonal to a central axis of the driving collar, and
wherein the portion is engageable with a corresponding portion between adjacently disposed driven teeth.
20 . The torque-limiting fitting of claim 19 , further comprising:
a thumbpiece covering at least the driving collar, the thumbpiece including:
a recess accommodating the driving collar; and
at least one advancement-limiting feature adapted and configured to limit axial movement of the thumbpiece.
