Abstract

A fuse monitoring device for monitoring a fuse is disclosed. The fuse monitoring device includes at least one sensor, at least one processor and a housing. The sensor is configured to be operably connected to the fuse and configured to measure fuse data associated with the fuse. The sensor includes a current sensor that includes a frame and a core. The at least one processor is communicatively coupled to the at least one sensor and is configured to transmit the fuse data. The housing includes a mounting block that includes an inner opening. The frame of the current sensor is configured within the inner opening of the mounting block.

Claims (27)

1 . A fuse monitoring device for monitoring a fuse, the fuse monitoring device comprising:

at least one sensor configured to be operably connected to the fuse and configured to measure fuse data associated with the fuse, wherein the at least one sensor includes a current sensor that comprises a frame and a core, wherein the frame is t-shaped;

at least one processor communicatively coupled to the at least one sensor, the at least one processor configured to transmit the fuse data; and

a housing comprising a holder attachment mechanism configured to connect the fuse monitoring device to a fuse block that supports the fuse and the housing further comprising a mounting block, wherein the mounting block comprises a chamber, wherein a lower member of the t-shaped frame of the current sensor is configured within the chamber of the mounting block.

2 . The fuse monitoring device of claim 1 , wherein the frame comprises an upper member that is perpendicular to the lower member, wherein the upper member is connected to the core.

3 . The fuse monitoring device of claim 1 , wherein the frame is configured to mount the current sensor to the housing.

4 . The fuse monitoring device of claim 1 , wherein the frame comprises a frame channel through which one or more wire components of the current sensor is directed through.

5 . The fuse monitoring device of claim 4 , wherein the one or more wire components of the current sensor exits through a lower opening of the lower member.

6 . The fuse monitoring device of claim 4 , wherein the one or more wire components electrically connects the core and a circuit board of the housing via the frame channel.

7 . The fuse monitoring device of claim 6 , wherein the circuit board is configured within a housing cavity.

8 . The fuse monitoring device of claim 1 , wherein the housing comprises a housing cavity for storing the at least one processor.

9 . The fuse monitoring device of claim 1 , wherein the frame is coupled to the core using screws, pins, or adhesives.

10 . A fuse monitoring system comprising:

a fuse monitoring device for monitoring a fuse, the fuse monitoring device comprising:

at least one sensor configured to be operably connected to the fuse and configured to measure fuse data associated with the fuse, wherein the at least one sensor includes a current sensor that comprises a frame and a core, wherein the frame is t-shaped;

at least one processor communicatively coupled to the at least one sensor, the at least one processor configured to transmit the fuse data; and

a housing comprising a holder attachment mechanism configured to connect the fuse monitoring device to a fuse block that supports the fuse and the housing further comprising a mounting block, wherein the mounting block comprises a chamber, wherein a lower member of the t-shaped frame of the current sensor is configured within the chamber of the mounting block; and

a computing device configured to receive the fuse data from the at least one processor that is in communication with at least one memory device.

11 . The fuse monitoring system of claim 10 , wherein the frame comprises an upper member that is perpendicular to the lower member, wherein the upper member is connected to the core.

12 . The fuse monitoring system of claim 10 , wherein the frame is configured to mount the current sensor to the housing.

13 . The fuse monitoring system of claim 10 , wherein the frame comprises a frame channel through which one or more wire components of the current sensor is directed through.

14 . The fuse monitoring system of claim 13 , wherein the one or more wire components of the current sensor exits through a lower opening of the lower member.

15 . The fuse monitoring system of claim 13 , wherein the one or more wire components electrically connects the core and a circuit board of the housing via the frame channel.

16 . The fuse monitoring system of claim 15 , wherein the circuit board is configured within a housing cavity.

17 . The fuse monitoring system of claim 10 , wherein the housing comprises a housing cavity for storing the at least one processor.

18 . The fuse monitoring system of claim 10 , wherein the fuse monitoring device is configured to connect to a plurality of fuse blocks.

19 . The fuse monitoring system of claim 10 , wherein the frame is coupled to the core using screws, pins, or adhesives.
