Display device and method thereof
A display device is provided, which includes a jog switch which performs a moving operation in a plurality of directions and a push operation, a display unit which displays a first user interface (UI) for adjusting a channel or a volume of the display device or a second UI for adjusting other functions of the display device in accordance with a first operation of the jog switch, and a control unit which adjusts a selected function of the display device in accordance with a second operation of the jog switch in which is performed in a state where the first UI or the second UI is displayed. The jog switch is formed to project for a predetermine height from a surface of the display device, and thus a user can find the jog switch easily and promptly even is the jog switch is obstructed from view.
1 . A display apparatus comprising:
a display panel;
a switch; and
a controller configured to:
display on the display panel a plurality of icons corresponding to a plurality of functions of the display apparatus, respectively, the plurality of icons being displayed in a first state in which an icon among the plurality of icons is selected,
in the first state in which the plurality of icons are displayed and the icon is selected, based on a first push input operation of the switch being input during a first time, adjust a function of the display corresponding to the icon of the plurality of icons while displaying the plurality of icons in the first state, and
in the first state in which the plurality of icons are displayed and the icon is selected, based on a second push input operation of the switch being input during a second time, change the display of the plurality of icons from the first state to a second state while displaying the plurality of icons.
2 . The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the first time is different from the second time.
3 . The display apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the first time is within a preset time, and
wherein the second time is exceeding the preset time.
4 . The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the controller is further configured to display on the display panel a guide information related to the push input operation.
5 . A method of display apparatus comprising:
displaying a plurality of icons corresponding to a plurality of functions of the display apparatus, respectively, the plurality of icons being displayed in a first state in which an icon among the plurality of icons is selected;
in the first state in which the plurality of icons are displayed and the icon is selected, based on a first push input operation of the switch being input during a first time, adjusting a function of the display corresponding to the icon of the plurality of icons while displaying the plurality of icons in the first state; and
in the first state in which the plurality of icons are displayed and the icon is selected, based on a second push input operation of the switch being input during a second time, changing the display of the plurality of icons from the first state to a second state while displaying the plurality of icons.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the first time is different from the second time.
7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the first time is within a preset time, and
wherein the second time is exceeding the preset time.
8 . The method of claim 5 , further comprising:
displaying a guide information related to the push input operation.
