Abstract

An image forming apparatus having a plurality of imaging units prints, in a case that a print job received from an information processing apparatus is a print job for printing a chart for adjustment, the chart based on the print job, and decides, based on the chart, which of the plurality of imaging units is to be used to perform colorimetry of a printed product on which the chart has been printed. The image forming apparatus changes a conveyance path of the printed product to use the decided imaging unit for the colorimetry of the printed product, and notifies the information processing apparatus of a result of the colorimetry by the decided imaging unit.

Claims (29)

1 . An image forming apparatus which conveys a sheet to an inspection apparatus which performs inspection of a printed product printed by the image forming apparatus, comprising:

a conveyor;

a first imaging sensor mounted on a double-sided conveyance path;

a second imaging sensor mounted on the inspection apparatus;

one or more memories storing instructions; and

one or more processors that execute the instructions to cause the image forming apparatus to:

receive a job for color adjustment from an information processing apparatus;

print a chart for color adjustment on a sheet based on the job;

control the conveyer to convey the sheet through the double-sided conveyance path in a case where the first imaging sensor is set by the job from among the first imaging sensor and the second imaging sensor, and then perform colorimetry of the chart with the first imaging sensor; and

control the conveyer to convey the sheet toward the inspection apparatus and not through the double-sided conveyance path in a case where the second imaging sensor is set by the job from among the first imaging sensor and the second imaging sensor, and then perform colorimetry of the chart with the second imaging sensor.

2 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors further execute the instructions to cause the image forming apparatus to notify a result of the colorimetry.

3 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors further execute the instructions to cause the image forming apparatus to transmit a result of the colorimetry to the information processing apparatus.

4 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors further execute the instructions to cause the image forming apparatus to:

print a plurality of charts for color adjustment on sheets.

5 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors cause the image forming apparatus to control the conveyer to convey the sheet toward the inspection apparatus not through the double-sided conveyance path and through a single-sided path in a case where the second imaging sensor is set by the job from among the first imaging sensor and the second imaging sensor, and then perform colorimetry of the chart with the second imaging sensor.

6 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors cause the image forming apparatus to obtain a setting of an imaging sensor set to be used for the job from the received job, and

determine whether the first imaging sensor is set by the job from among the first imaging sensor and the second imaging sensor or the second imaging sensor is set by the job from among the first imaging sensor and the second imaging sensor.

7 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the first imaging sensor is a first camera, and

wherein the second imaging sensor is a second camera.

8 . A method of controlling an image forming apparatus which conveys a sheet to an inspection apparatus which performs inspection of a printed product printed by the image forming apparatus, the method comprising:

receiving a job for color adjustment from an information processing apparatus;

printing a chart for color adjustment on a sheet based on the job;

controlling a conveyer of the image forming apparatus to convey the sheet through a double-sided conveyance path in a case where a first imaging sensor is set by the job from among the first imaging sensor and a second imaging sensor, and then performing colorimetry of the chart with the first imaging sensor, wherein the first imaging sensor is mounted on the double-sided conveyance path, and the second imaging sensor is mounted on the inspection apparatus; and

controlling the conveyer to convey the sheet toward the inspection apparatus and not through the double-sided conveyance path in a case where the second imaging sensor is set by the job from among the first imaging sensor and the second imaging sensor, and then performing colorimetry of the chart with the second imaging sensor.

9 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium for causing a processor to execute a method of controlling an image forming apparatus which conveys a sheet to an inspection apparatus which performs inspection of a printed product printed by the image forming apparatus, the method comprising:

receiving a job for color adjustment from an information processing apparatus;

printing a chart for color adjustment on a sheet based on the job;

controlling a conveyer of the image forming apparatus to convey the sheet through a double-sided conveyance path in a case where a first imaging sensor is set by the job from among the first imaging sensor and a second imaging sensor, and then performing colorimetry of the chart with the first imaging sensor, wherein the first imaging sensor is mounted on the double-sided conveyance path, and the second imaging sensor is mounted on the inspection apparatus; and

controlling the conveyer to convey the sheet toward the inspection apparatus and not through the double-sided conveyance path in a case where the second imaging sensor is set by the job from among the first imaging sensor and the second imaging sensor, and then performing colorimetry of the chart with the second imaging sensor.
