Abstract

An image decoding method may include determining a target boundary for a filtering by dividing a reconstructed picture; deriving a boundary strength for the target boundary based on whether at least one block among blocks adjacent to the target boundary was coded by a partition combined prediction, where the partition combined prediction represents a mode in which a prediction is performed by combining a first prediction block of a first partition and a second prediction block of a second partition based on a block being geometrically partitioned into the first partition and the second partition; and performing a filtering for the target boundary based on the boundary strength, where the first prediction block and the second prediction block are prediction blocks in which different predictions were performed.

Claims (30)

1 . An image decoding method, the method comprising:

determining a target boundary for a filtering by dividing a reconstructed picture;

based on at least one block of blocks adjacent to the target boundary being coded by a partition combined prediction, deriving a boundary strength for the target boundary based on respective sub-blocks of the blocks adjacent to the target boundary, wherein the partition combined prediction represents a mode in which a prediction is performed by combining a first prediction block of a first partition and a second prediction block of a second partition based on a block being geometrically partitioned into the first partition and the second partition; and

performing a filtering for the target boundary based on the boundary strength,

wherein one of the first prediction block and the second prediction block is intra-predicted, and an other of the first prediction block and the second prediction block is inter-predicted.

2 . The method of claim 1 ,

wherein based on at least one sub-block among each pair of sub-blocks adjacent to the target boundary being intra-predicted, the boundary strength is derived as a predetermined first value.

3 . The method of claim 1 ,

wherein based on all sub-blocks of each pair of sub-blocks adjacent to the target boundary being intra-predicted, the boundary strength is derived as a predetermined second value, and

wherein based on only one sub-block among each pair of sub-blocks adjacent to the target boundary being intra-predicted, the boundary strength is derived as a predetermined third value.

4 . The method of claim 1 ,

wherein deriving the boundary strength includes determining whether a current block among the blocks adjacent to the target boundary was coded by the partition combined prediction.

5 . The method of claim 4 ,

wherein whether the current block was coded by the partition combined prediction is determined based on a motion vector stored for the current block.

6 . The method of claim 1 ,

wherein a width and a height of a block adjacent to the target boundary is adaptively determined based on coding information.

7 . The method of claim 6 ,

wherein the coding information includes at least one of a size of the block adjacent to the target boundary, a size of a predetermined grid, a partition division angle for the partition combined prediction or a partition division distance for the partition combined prediction.

8 . An image encoding method, the method comprising:

determining a target boundary for a filtering by dividing a reconstructed picture;

based on at least one block of blocks adjacent to the target boundary being coded by a partition combined prediction, deriving a boundary strength for the target boundary based on respective sub-blocks of the blocks adjacent to the target boundary, wherein the partition combined prediction represents a mode in which a prediction is performed by combining a first prediction block of a first partition and a second prediction block of a second partition based on a block being geometrically partitioned into the first partition and the second partition; and

performing a filtering for the target boundary based on the boundary strength,

wherein one of the first prediction block and the second prediction block is intra-predicted, and an other of the first prediction block and the second prediction block is inter-predicted.

9 . A method for transmitting data for image information, the method comprising:

determining a target boundary for a filtering by dividing a reconstructed picture;

based on at least one block of blocks adjacent to the target boundary being coded by a partition combined prediction, deriving a boundary strength for the target boundary based on respective sub-blocks of the blocks adjacent to the target boundary, wherein the partition combined prediction represents a mode in which a prediction is performed by combining a first prediction block of a first partition and a second prediction block of a second partition based on a block being geometrically partitioned into the first partition and the second partition;

performing a filtering for the target boundary based on the boundary strength;

generating a bitstream by encoding a current block based on the filtered reconstructed picture; and

transmitting data including the bitstream,

wherein one of the first prediction block and the second prediction block is intra-predicted, and an other of the first prediction block and the second prediction block is inter-predicted.
