Sidelink discovery associated with NR relays
Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are described herein for sidelink discovery, for example, associated with relays, e.g., NR relays. Discovery data may be transmitted, for example, to initialize communication between devices. Discovery data may be transmitted alone or multiplexed with other data (e.g., sidelink data). Discovery data with a high priority may be transmitted alone. Discovery data with a low priority may be multiplexed with other data (e.g., other data received within a duration of time). Discovery data may be multiplexed with other data that share the same destination identity. Resource allocation may be performed, for example, based on whether the discovery data is transmitted alone or multiplexed with other data.
1 . A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising;
a memory; and
a processor connected to the memory, wherein the processor is configured to:
receive configuration information that comprises an indication that indicates a resource pool, wherein the configuration information indicates whether the resource pool is dedicated to transmission of discovery information, wherein if the resource pool is dedicated to transmission of discovery information, the resource pool is limited to transmitting discovery information;
receive a grant associated with a sidelink transmission, wherein the grant indicates to use the resource pool; and
on a condition that the configuration information indicates that the resource pool is dedicated to transmission of discovery information, send the sidelink transmission using the resource pool, wherein the sidelink transmission is limited to discovery information.
2 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein, if the configuration information indicates that the resource pool is not dedicated to transmission of discovery information, the sidelink transmission is not limited to transmission of discovery information.
3 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the condition is a first condition, and wherein the processor is further configured to:
determine that a second condition is satisfied; and
based on the determination that the second condition is satisfied, apply a link control protocol (LCP) restriction, wherein a content associated with the sidelink transmission is determined based on the applied LCP restriction.
4 . The WTRU of claim 3 , wherein the second condition is associated with one or more of a channel busy ratio associated with the resource pool, an allowable transmit power, a size of the grant associated with the sidelink transmission, or a priority associated with the sidelink transmission.
5 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the sidelink transmission comprises at least one of discovery information or data information.
6 . A method comprising:
receiving configuration information that comprises an indication that indicates a resource pool, wherein the configuration information indicates whether the resource pool is dedicated to transmission of discovery information, wherein if the resource pool is dedicated to transmission of discovery information, the resource pool is limited to transmitting discovery information;
receiving a grant associated with a sidelink transmission, wherein the grant indicates to use the resource pool; and
on a condition that the configuration information indicates that the resource pool is dedicated to transmission of discovery information, sending the sidelink transmission using the resource pool wherein the sidelink transmission is limited to discovery information.
7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein, if the configuration information indicates that the resource pool is not dedicated to transmission of discovery information, the sidelink transmission is not limited to transmission of discovery information.
8 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the condition is a first condition, and wherein the method further comprises:
determining that a second condition is satisfied; and
based on the determination that the second condition is satisfied, applying a link control protocol (LCP) restriction, wherein a content associated with the sidelink transmission is further determined based on the applied LCP restriction.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the second condition is associated with one or more of a channel busy ratio associated with the resource pool, an allowable transmit power, a size of the grant associated with the sidelink transmission, or a priority associated with the sidelink transmission.
10 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the sidelink transmission comprises at least one of discovery information or data information.
