Abstract

A light emitting device module includes a substrate, a plurality of light emitting devices disposed on the substrate, and an adhesive layer disposed between the substrate and at least one of the plurality of light emitting devices. An outer electrode is disposed on the outer region of the substrate.

Claims (41)

1 . A light emitting device module, comprising:

a substrate comprising a mounting region and an outer region and having an upper surface and a lower surface;

a plurality of light emitters disposed on the upper surface of the mounting region of the substrate;

an adhesive layer disposed between the upper surface of the mounting region of the substrate and at least one of the plurality of light emitters, the adhesive layer having a non-conductive material;

a first outer electrode and a second outer electrode disposed on the outer region of the substrate, the outer region being external to the mounting region of the substrate, wherein the first outer electrode and the second outer electrode each include an upper region disposed on the upper surface of the outer region and a lower region configured to be bonded to a panel substrate; and

a bonding wire electrically connecting the at least one of the plurality of light emitters to the upper region of one of the first or second outer electrodes,

wherein the first outer electrode is electrically connected to cathode electrodes of the plurality of light emitters.

2 . The light emitting device module of claim 1 , wherein the first outer electrode is disposed facing one side of at least one of the plurality of light emitters.

3 . The light emitting device module of claim 1 , wherein the first and second outer electrodes are disposed near edges of the substrate.

4 . The light emitting device module of claim 1 , further comprising a molding layer disposed on the substrate and covering side surfaces of the plurality of light emitters.

5 . The light emitting device module of claim 4 , wherein a maximum height of the molding layer is greater than a maximum height of the bonding wire.

6 . The light emitting device module of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of light emitters emit blue light, green light, and red light, respectively.

7 . The light emitting device module of claim 1 , wherein the adhesive layer is formed to have a width wider than a width of the at least one of the plurality of light emitters.

8 . The light emitting device module of claim 1 , wherein the adhesive layer is an adhesive paste, and wherein the adhesive layer is spaced apart from the first and second outer electrodes.

9 . The light emitting device module of claim 1 , wherein the first and second outer electrodes cover regions of side surfaces of the substrate.

10 . A light emitting device module, comprising:

a substrate having a mounting region and an outer region and having an upper surface and a lower surface;

a plurality of light emitters disposed on the upper surface of the mounting region of the substrate;

at least one adhesive layer disposed between the upper surface of the mounting region of the substrate and at least one of the plurality of light emitters;

a first outer electrode disposed on the outer region of the substrate, the first outer electrode spaced apart from the mounting region of the substrate, wherein the first outer electrode and the second outer electrode each include an upper region disposed on the upper surface of the outer region and a lower region configured to be bonded to a panel substrate;

a bonding wire electrically connecting the at least one of the plurality of the light emitters to the upper region of the first outer electrode, and

a molding layer disposed on the substrate and covering side surfaces of the plurality of the light emitters,

wherein a maximum height of the molding layer is greater than a maximum height of the bonding wire.

11 . The light emitting device module of claim 10 , wherein the plurality of light emitters emit blue light, green light, and red light, respectively.

12 . The light emitting device module of claim 10 , wherein the at least one adhesive layer is formed to have a width wider than a width of the at least one of the plurality of light emitters.

13 . The light emitting device module of claim 10 , further comprising a second outer electrode disposed on the outer region of the substrate, the first outer electrode is electrically connected to cathode electrodes of the plurality of light emitters.

14 . The light emitting device module of claim 13 , wherein the first and second outer electrodes are disposed near edges of the substrate.

15 . A display apparatus, comprising:

a panel substrate; and

a light emitting device module disposed on the panel substrate, the light emitting device module, comprising:

a substrate having a mounting region and an outer region and having an upper surface and a lower surface, wherein the substrate includes a non-conductive material;

a plurality of light emitters disposed on the upper surface of the mounting region of the substrate;

at least one adhesive layer disposed between the upper surface of the mounting region of the substrate and at least one of the plurality of light emitters, wherein the at least one adhesive layer is a non-conductive adhesive paste;

a first outer electrode and a second outer electrode disposed on the outer region of the substrate, the outer region being external to the mounting region of the substrate, wherein the first outer electrode and the second outer electrode each include an upper region disposed on the upper surface of the outer region and a lower region configured to be bonded to the panel substrate, and

a molding layer disposed on the substrate and covering side surfaces of the plurality of the light emitters and side surfaces of the first and second outer electrodes,

wherein the first outer electrode is electrically connected to cathode electrodes of the plurality of light emitters.

16 . The display apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the first outer electrode is disposed facing one side of at least one of the plurality of light emitters.

17 . The display apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the first and second electrodes are disposed near edges of the substrate.

18 . The display apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the plurality of light emitters emit blue light, green light, and red light, respectively.

19 . The display apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the at least one adhesive layer is formed to have a width wider than a width of the at least one of the plurality of light emitters.

20 . The display apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the first and second outer electrodes cover regions of side surfaces of the substrate.
