Licorice extract
View Patent ↗Provided is a licorice extract which can be used as a multifunctional raw material. The licorice extract includes: (A) one or more selected from the group consisting of glycyrrhizic acid, a glycyrrhizic acid derivative, glycyrrhetinic acid, and a glycyrrhetinic acid derivative; (B) licorice saponins other than the (A); and (C) licorice flavonoids, and the (B) includes at least 1.7% by mass or more of a licorice saponin H2, 0.2% by mass or more of a licorice saponin G2, and 0.2% by mass or more of macedonoside A, and the (C) includes at least 0.1% by mass or more of liquiritin apioside, 0.1% by mass or more of isoliquiritin apioside, and 0.1% by mass or more of isoliquiritin.
1 . A feed additive for mammals or livestock, comprising a licorice extract in an amount from 0.02% to 100% by mass of the feed additive, said licorice extract comprising:
(A) at least 9% by mass of one or more selected from the group consisting of glycyrrhizic acid, a glycyrrhizic acid derivative, glycyrrhetinic acid, and a glycyrrhetinic acid derivative;
(B) licorice saponins other than the (A); and
(C) licorice flavonoids, wherein
the (B) comprises at least 1.7% by mass of a licorice saponin H2, 0.2% by mass or more of a licorice saponin G2, and 0.2% by mass or more of macedonoside A, and the (C) comprises at least 0.1% by mass of liquiritin apioside, 0.1% by mass or more of isoliquiritin apioside, and 0.1% by mass or more of isoliquiritin.

The feed additive of claim 1 , wherein the (B) of the licorice extract comprises at least 1.7% by mass of the licorice saponin H2, 0.2% by mass or more of the licorice saponin G2, and 0.9% by mass or more of the macedonoside A, and the (C) of the licorice extract comprises at least 0.1% by mass of the liquiritin apioside, 0.1% by mass or more of the isoliquiritin apioside, and 0.1% by mass or more of the isoliquiritin.

The feed additive of claim 1 , wherein the (B) of the licorice extract comprises at least 2.9% by mass of the licorice saponin H2, 0.5% by mass or more of the licorice saponin G2, and 0.2% by mass or more of the macedonoside A, and the (C) of the licorice extract comprises at least 0.9% by mass of the liquiritin apioside, 0.1% by mass or more of the isoliquiritin apioside, and 0.1% by mass or more of the isoliquiritin.

The feed additive of claim 1 , wherein the (B) of the licorice extract comprises at least 2% by mass of the licorice saponin H2, 0.5% by mass or more of the licorice saponin G2, and 0.5% by mass or more of the macedonoside A, and the (C) of the licorice extract comprises at least 2.4% by mass of the liquiritin apioside, 0.4% by mass or more of the isoliquiritin apioside, and 0.3% by mass or more of the isoliquiritin.

The feed additive of claim 1 , wherein the (B) of the licorice extract comprises at least 6.3% by mass of the licorice saponin H2, 0.8% by mass or more of the licorice saponin G2, and 2.6% by mass or more of the macedonoside A, and the (C) of the licorice extract comprises at least 5.6% by mass of the liquiritin apioside, 1.8% by mass or more of the isoliquiritin apioside, and 2.7% by mass or more of the isoliquiritin.
6 . The feed additive of claim 1 , wherein the licorice extract comprises
9% by mass or more of the (A), and/or
2% by mass or more of the (B), and/or
4% by mass or more of the (C).
7 . The feed additive of claim 1 , wherein the licorice extract comprises
15% by mass or more of the (A), and/or
2% by mass or more of the (B), and/or
4% by mass or more of the (C).
8 . The feed additive of claim 1 , wherein the licorice extract comprises
9% by mass or more of the (A), and/or
3% by mass or more of the (B), and/or
10% by mass or more of the (C).
9 . The feed additive of claim 1 , wherein the licorice extract comprises
14% by mass or more of the (A), and/or
9% by mass or more of the (B), and/or
19% by mass or more of the (C).
10 . The feed additive according to claim 1 , comprising water-soluble dietary fiber.
11 . The feed additive according to claim 10 , comprising the licorice extract and the water-soluble dietary fiber in a mass ratio of the licorice extract: the water-soluble dietary fiber equal to 10:90 to
40:60.
12 . The feed additive according to claim 10 , wherein the water-soluble dietary fiber is glucomannan.
13 . A method for raising mammals or livestock comprising:
feeding the feed additive of claim 10 to the mammals or livestock, wherein at least one first parameter was measured at a first time point and a second time point, wherein the at least one first parameter is selected from the group consisting of dietary intakes of the mammals or livestock, total cholesterol values in the blood of the mammals or livestock, vitamin A values in the blood of the mammals or livestock, and weight of the mammals or the livestock,
wherein the value of the at least one first parameter at the second time point is greater than the value of the at least one first parameter at the first time point.
14 . A method for raising mammals or livestock comprising:
feeding the feed additive of claim 10 to the mammals or livestock,
wherein at least one first parameter was measured at a first time point and a second time point, wherein the at least one parameter is carcass weights, carcass yield rates, feed efficiency, and/or liver discard rates, and
wherein the value of the at least one first parameter at the second time point is greater than the value of the at least one first parameter at the first time point.
15 . The method for raising mammals or livestock of claim 13 wherein at least one second parameter was measured at a first time point and a second time point, wherein the at least one second parameter is Glutamic-Oxaloacetic Transaminase (GOT) values in the blood of the mammals or livestock, and
wherein the value of the at least one second parameter at the second time point is less than the value of the at least one second parameter at the first time point.
16 . The feed additive according to claim 1 , wherein the licorice extract is present in an amount from 10% to 100% by mass of the feed additive.
