Utilizing generative artificial intelligence to improve storage system management
Content including information describing an issue with a storage system is received. The content is analyzed by a generative artificial intelligence (AI) model to identify the issue described by the content. A solution for the issue is determined based on at least one of information associated with the storage system or information associated with one or more other storage systems. A response including a description of the solution for the issue is generated.
1 . A system comprising:
a memory; and
a processing device, operatively coupled to the memory, the processing device configured to:
receive content comprising information describing an issue with a storage system;
identify, by a generative artificial intelligence (AI) model executing on the processing device and trained on at least one of information associated with the storage system or information associated with one or more other storage systems, the issue described by the content;
select a solution from a plurality of solutions based on corresponding success rates for solving the issue; and
present a response comprising a description of the solution for the issue, including information indicating that the selected solution corresponds to a higher success rate of solving the issue than remaining solutions of the plurality of solutions.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein to present the response, the processing device is further configured to:
generate a prompt for permission to implement the solution for the issue; and
implement the solution for the issue while bypassing user interaction in response to receiving the permission.
3 . The system of claim 2 , wherein to implement the solution, the processing device is further configured to:
migrate one or more workloads from a first component of the storage system to a second component of the storage system.
4 . The system of claim 2 , wherein to implement the solution, the processing device is further configured to:
perform at least one of a software update or a software upgrade on the storage system.
5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein to select the solution, the processing device is further configured to:
identify one or more changes to a configuration of the storage system as the solution to the issue, wherein the description of the solution comprises a description of the one or more changes to the configuration.
6 . The system of claim 5 , wherein the response comprises at least one of a picture or a video describing the one or more changes to the configuration.
7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the information associated with the storage system and the information associated with the one or more other storage systems comprises at least one of a software change or a hardware change of the storage system.
8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the content comprises text describing the issue with the storage system, and wherein the generative AI model utilizes natural language processing to identify the issue described by the text.
9 . The system of claim 1 , wherein select the solution, the processing device is further configured to:
access a database comprising other issues associated with a plurality of storage systems;
identify one or more of the other issues that match the issue described by the content; and
identify corresponding solutions associated with the one or more other issues.
10 . A method, comprising:
receiving content comprising information describing an issue with a storage system;
identifying, by a generative artificial intelligence (AI) model executed on a processing device and trained on at least one of information associated with the storage system or information associated with one or more other storage systems, the issue described by the content;
selecting a solution from a plurality of solutions based on corresponding success rates for solving the issue; and
presenting a response comprising a description of the solution for the issue, including information indicating that the selected solution corresponds to a higher success rate of solving the issue than remaining solutions of the plurality of solutions.
11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein presenting the response comprises:
generating a prompt for permission to implement the solution for the issue; and
implementing the solution for the issue while bypassing user interaction in response to receiving the permission.
12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein implementing the solution comprises:
migrating one or more workloads from a first component of the storage system to a second component of the storage system.
13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein implementing the solution comprises:
performing at least one of a software update or a software upgrade on the storage system.
14 . The method of claim 10 , wherein selecting the solution comprises:
identifying one or more changes to a configuration of the storage system as the solution to the issue, wherein the description of the solution comprises a description of the one or more changes to the configuration.
15 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions which, when executed, cause a processing device to:
receive content comprising information describing an issue with a storage system;
identify, by a generative artificial intelligence (AI) model executing on the processing device and trained on at least one of information associated with the storage system or information associated with one or more other storage systems, the issue described by the content;
select a solution from a plurality of solutions based on corresponding success rates for the issue; and
present a response comprising a description of the solution for the issue, including information indicating that the selected solution corresponds to a higher success rate of solving the issue than remaining solutions of the plurality of solutions.
16 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein to present the response, the processing device is further caused to:
generate a prompt for permission to implement the solution for the issue; and
implement the solution for the issue while bypassing user interaction in response to receiving the permission.
17 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 16 , wherein to implement the solution, the processing device is further caused to:
migrate one or more workloads from a first component of the storage system to a second component of the storage system.
18 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 16 , wherein to implement the solution, the processing device is further caused to:
perform at least one of a software update or a software upgrade on the storage system.
19 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein to select the solution, the processing device is further caused to:
identify one or more changes to a configuration of the storage system as the solution to the issue, wherein the description of the solution comprises a description of the one or more changes to the configuration.
20 . The method of claim 10 , wherein selecting the solution comprises:
accessing a database comprising other issues associated with a plurality of storage systems;
identifying one or more of the other issues that match the issue described; and
identifying corresponding solutions associated with the one or more other issues.
