Trust platform
A first user device may receive, from a second user device, a request to communicatively couple to the first user device, and may establish a communication session with the second user device after receiving the request. The first user device may identify, after establishing the communication session, an inappropriate activity of the second user device relating to the communication session, and perform a set of actions based on identifying the inappropriate activity. The set of actions may include causing the communication session to be restricted, and providing, to a trust platform, a score for the second user device. The score may permit the trust platform to derive a composite score, indicative of a level of trustworthiness of the second user device, that enables other user devices, associated with the trust platform, to determine whether to grant access requests submitted by the second user device.
1 . A method, comprising:
accessing, by a first device, a network provided by a second device;
monitoring, by the first device, network activity associated with the second device;
identifying, by the first device and based on the monitored network activity, an inappropriate activity associated with the second device;
performing, by the first device, a plurality of actions based on identifying the inappropriate activity,
wherein the plurality of actions include:
transmitting a notification, that includes information associated with the inappropriate activity, to a plurality of third devices,
wherein the notification prevents the plurality of third devices from establishing a connection with the network provided by the second device; and
providing, to a trust platform, a score associated with at least one of the second device or the network provided by the second device,
wherein the score is used in deriving a composite score, indicative of an overall level of trustworthiness of the second device, that enables users of the trust platform to perform appropriate actions associated with the second device.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
determining, based on identifying the inappropriate activity, the score associated with at least one of the second device or the network provided by the second device.
3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
adding, to a blacklist, information associated with at least one of the second device or the network provided by the second device.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein a trust application associated with the first device is used for identifying the inappropriate activity.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the trust application is installed on the first device and the plurality of third devices.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the trust application prevents the plurality of third devices from establishing the connection with the network provided by the second device.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of actions further include:
terminating a communication session between the first device and the second device, or causing available bandwidth to the second device being limited.
8 . A first device, comprising:
one or more memories; and
one or more processors, coupled to the one or more memories, configured to:
access a network provided by a second device;
monitor network activity associated with the second device;
identify an inappropriate activity associated with the second device;
perform a plurality of actions based on identifying the inappropriate activity, wherein the plurality of actions include;
transmitting a notification, that includes information associated with the inappropriate activity, to a plurality of third devices,
wherein the notification prevents the plurality of third devices from establishing a connection with the network provided by the second device; and
providing, to a trust platform, a score associated with at least one of the second device or the network provided by the second device,
wherein the score is used in deriving a composite score, indicative of an overall level of trustworthiness of the second device, that enables users of the trust platform to perform appropriate actions associated with the second device.
9 . The first device of claim 8 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:
determine, based on identifying the inappropriate activity, the score associated with at least one of the second device or the network provided by the second device.
10 . The first device of claim 8 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:
add, to a blacklist, information associated with at least one of the second device or the network provided by the second device.
11 . The first device of claim 8 , wherein a trust application associated with the first device is used for identifying the inappropriate activity.
12 . The first device of claim 11 , wherein the trust application is installed on the first device and the plurality of third devices.
13 . The first device of claim 12 , wherein the trust application prevents the plurality of third devices from establishing the connection with the network provided by the second device.
14 . The first device of claim 8 , wherein the plurality of actions further include:
terminating a communication session between the first device and the second device, or
causing available bandwidth to the second device being limited.
15 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a set of instructions, the set of instructions comprising:
one or more instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a first device, cause the first device to:
access a network provided by a second device;
monitor network activity associated with the second device;
identify an inappropriate activity associated with the second device;
perform a plurality of actions based on identifying the inappropriate activity, wherein the plurality of actions include;
transmitting a notification, that includes information associated with the inappropriate activity, to a plurality of third devices,
wherein the notification prevents the plurality of third devices from establishing a connection with the network provided by the second device; and
providing, to a trust platform, a score associated with at least one of the second device or the network provided by the second device,
wherein the score is used in deriving a composite score, indicative of an overall level of trustworthiness of the second device, that enables users of the trust platform to perform appropriate actions associated with the second device.
16 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the one or more instructions further cause the first device to:
determine, based on identifying the inappropriate activity, the score associated with at least one of the second device or the network provided by the second device.
17 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the one or more instructions further cause the first device to:
add, to a blacklist, information associated with at least one of the second device or the network provided by the second device.
18 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein a trust application associated with the first device is used for identifying the inappropriate activity.
19 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 18 , wherein the trust application prevents the plurality of third devices from establishing the connection with the network provided by the second device.
20 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the one or more instructions further cause the first device to:
terminate a communication session between the first device and the second device, or cause available bandwidth to the second device being limited.
