Abstract

Conductor identification may be provided. A first sleeve may be placed around a first conductor and a second sleeve around a second conductor. Next, a first tag may be placed on the first conductor and a second tag on the second conductor. Then, the first conductor and the second conductor may be pulled together through a conduit. The first conductor may slideably move through the first sleeve and the second conductor may slideably move through the second sleeve as the first conductor and the second conductor are pulled together through the conduit.

Claims (30)

1 . A method comprising:

placing a first sleeve around a first conductor, the first sleeve comprising a first sleeve indicia;

placing a first tag on a first end of the first conductor, the first tag comprising a first tag indicia corresponding to the first sleeve indicia;

placing a second sleeve around a second conductor, the second sleeve comprising a second sleeve indicia;

placing a second tag on a first end of the second conductor, the second tag comprising a second tag indicia corresponding to the second sleeve indicia, wherein the first sleeve indicia does not correspond to the second tag indicia and the second sleeve indicia does not correspond to the first tag indicia, wherein the first sleeve indicia and first tag indicia are selected from at least one of the following: a first alphanumeric sequence, a first set of numbers, a first set of letters, a first set of symbols, a first set of colors, and combinations thereof; and

pulling the first conductor and the second conductor together through a conduit wherein the first conductor slideably moves through the first sleeve and the second conductor slideably moves through the second sleeve as the first conductor and the second conductor are pulled together through the conduit.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the second sleeve indicia and second tag indicia are selected from at least one of the following: a second alphanumeric sequence, a second set of numbers, a second set of letters, a second set of symbols, a second set of colors, and combinations thereof.

3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the second sleeve indicia and second tag indicia comprise a second alphanumeric sequence.

4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the second sleeve indicia and second tag indicia comprise a second set of numbers.

5 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the second sleeve indicia and second tag indicia comprise a second set of letters.

6 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the second sleeve indicia and second tag indicia comprise a second set of symbols.

7 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the second sleeve indicia and second tag indicia comprise a second set of colors.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first sleeve indicia and first tag indicia comprise a first alphanumeric sequence.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first sleeve indicia and first tag indicia comprise a first set of numbers.

10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first sleeve indicia and first tag indicia comprise a first set of letters.

11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first sleeve indicia and first tag indicia comprise a first set of symbols.

12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first sleeve indicia and first tag indicia comprise a first set of colors.

13 . A method comprising:

placing a first sleeve around a first conductor, the first sleeve comprising a first sleeve indicia, wherein the first sleeve is one of the following: a cylinder, a clip, a carabiner, a key ring and a helical spring;

placing a first tag on a first end of the first conductor, the first tag comprising a first tag indicia corresponding to the first sleeve indicia;

placing a second sleeve around a second conductor, the second sleeve comprising a second sleeve indicia;

placing a second tag on a first end of the second conductor, the second tag comprising a second tag indicia corresponding to the second sleeve indicia, wherein the first sleeve indicia does not correspond to the second tag indicia and the second sleeve indicia does not correspond to the first tag indicia; and

pulling the first conductor and the second conductor together through a conduit wherein the first conductor slideably moves through the first sleeve and the second conductor slideably moves through the second sleeve as the first conductor and the second conductor are pulled together through the conduit.

14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the first sleeve comprises a cylinder.

15 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the first sleeve comprises a clip.

16 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the first sleeve comprises a carabiner.

17 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the first sleeve comprises a key ring.

18 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the first sleeve comprises a helical spring.

19 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the second sleeve comprises at least one of a cylinder, a clip, a carabiner, a key ring or a helical spring.

20 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the first sleeve and the second sleeve comprise a cylinder.
