User interfaces integrating hardware buttons
User interfaces integrating one or more hardware buttons are described, including camera user interfaces that perform different media capture operations (e.g., different types of captures, synthetic depth-of-field operations, and/or changes to the camera user interface) in response to presses of different buttons and/or in response to different types of button presses, user interfaces that provide different responses to button presses inside and outside of a camera application, and user interfaces that provide different settings functions in response to different types of button presses.
1 . A computer system configured to communicate with a display generation component, one or more cameras, and a hardware button, comprising:
one or more processors; and
memory storing one or more programs configured to be executed by the one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for:
detecting, via the hardware button, a respective input that includes a first press of the hardware button;
in accordance with a determination that the first press of the hardware button satisfies a first set of criteria, wherein the first set of criteria includes a first subset of criteria that is satisfied when the respective input includes a press of a first type, displaying, via the display generation component, a menu of one or more settings that can be associated with the hardware button; and
in accordance with a determination that the first press of the hardware button satisfies a second set of criteria different from the first set of criteria, wherein the second set of criteria includes a second subset of criteria that is satisfied when the respective input includes a press of a second type different from the first type, changing a value of a first setting of the one or more settings to a first value based on the respective input.
2 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein:
the first subset of criteria includes a first criterion that is satisfied when the first press of the hardware button includes a multiple-press sequence.
3 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the first setting includes a media capture setting.
4 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the first set of criteria and the second set of criteria include a respective criterion that is satisfied when the first press of the hardware button is detected while displaying, via the display generation component, a respective application.
5 . The computer system of claim 4 , the one or more programs further including instructions for:
in accordance with a determination that the first press of the hardware button satisfies a third set of criteria, wherein the third set of criteria includes a criterion that is satisfied when the first press of the hardware button is not detected while displaying the respective application, displaying, via the display generation component, the respective application.
6 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein displaying the menu of the one or more settings includes:
displaying one or more menu items corresponding to the one or more settings; and
while a respective setting of the one or more settings is associated with the hardware button, visually indicating a respective menu item of the one or more menu items corresponding to the respective setting.
7 . The computer system of claim 1 , the one or more programs further including instructions for:
while displaying the menu of the one or more settings, detecting a first input; and
in response to detecting the first input:
in accordance with a determination that the first input corresponds to a selection of a respective setting of the one or more settings, ceasing displaying the menu of the one or more settings.
8 . The computer system of claim 7 , wherein the first input includes a touch input detected via a touch-sensitive surface in communication with the computer system.
9 . The computer system of claim 1 , the one or more programs further including instructions for:
while displaying the menu of one or more settings, detecting a second input;
in response to detecting the second input:
in accordance with a determination that the second input does not correspond to a selection of a respective setting of the one or more settings, ceasing displaying the menu of one or more settings.
10 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein changing the value of the first setting of the one or more settings to the first value includes displaying, via the display generation component, an indication of the first value.
11 . The computer system of claim 10 , the one or more programs further including instructions for:
while displaying the indication of the first value, reducing a visual prominence of the indication of the first value; and
after reducing the visual prominence of the indication of the first value, ceasing displaying the indication of the first value.
12 . The computer system of claim 1 , the one or more programs further including instructions for:
after changing the value of the first setting of the one or more settings to the first value, detecting, via the hardware button, a second respective input that includes a second press of the hardware button; and
in accordance with a determination that the second press of the hardware button satisfies the second set of criteria, changing the value of the first setting to a second value different from the first value.
13 . The computer system of claim 12 , wherein the second set of criteria includes a first criterion that is satisfied when the first setting is associated with the hardware button, and the one or more programs further including instructions for:
in accordance with a determination that the second press of the hardware button satisfies a third set of criteria different from the first set of criteria and different from the second set of criteria, changing a value of a second setting, different from the first setting, of the one or more settings to a third value, wherein third set of criteria includes a second criterion that is satisfied when the second setting is associated with the hardware button.
14 . The computer system of claim 12 , the one or more programs further including instructions for:
detecting, via the hardware button, a third respective input that includes a third press of the hardware button; and
in accordance with a determination that the third press of the hardware button satisfies a fourth set of criteria different from the first set of criteria:
changing a value of a respective setting of the one or more settings to a respective value; and
displaying, via the display generation component, an indication of the respective value.
15 . The computer system of claim 14 , wherein the indication of the respective value is displayed at a location proximate to the hardware button.
16 . The computer system of claim 1 , the one or more programs further including instructions for:
in response to detecting the first press of the hardware button, displaying, via the display generation component, an animation of a graphical element, wherein the animation of the graphical element visually represents the first press.
17 . The computer system of claim 16 , wherein displaying the animation of the graphical element includes:
in accordance with a determination that the first press has a first value for a respective input characteristic of the first press, displaying the animation of the graphical element with a first animation characteristic; and
in accordance with a determination that the first press has a second value different from the first value for the respective input characteristic of the first press, displaying the animation of the graphical element with a second animation characteristic different from the first animation characteristic.
18 . The computer system of claim 16 , wherein displaying the animation of the graphical element includes:
in accordance with a determination that the first press of the hardware button satisfies the first set of criteria including the first subset of criteria that is satisfied when the first press is a press of the first type, animating the graphical element transforming into the menu of the one or more settings that can be associated with the hardware button.
19 . The computer system of claim 16 , wherein displaying the animation of the graphical element includes:
in accordance with a determination that the first press is detected while displaying, via the display generation component, a camera user interface that includes a camera preview representing at least a portion of a field-of-view of the one or more cameras, displaying the graphical element overlaying at least a portion of the camera preview.
20 . The computer system of claim 1 , the one or more programs further including instructions for:
while detecting the first press of the hardware button, displaying, via the display generation component, a user interface that includes one or more selectable user interface objects; and
in accordance with the determination that the first press of the hardware button satisfies the first set of criteria including the first subset of criteria that is satisfied when the first press is a press of the first type, ceasing displaying at least one selectable user interface object of the one or more selectable user interface objects.
21 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing one or more programs configured to be executed by one or more processors of a computer system that is in communication with a display generation component, one or more cameras, and a hardware button, the one or more programs including instructions for:
detecting, via the hardware button, a respective input that includes a first press of the hardware button;
in accordance with a determination that the first press of the hardware button satisfies a first set of criteria, wherein the first set of criteria includes a first subset of criteria that is satisfied when the respective input includes a press of a first type, displaying, via the display generation component, a menu of one or more settings that can be associated with the hardware button; and
in accordance with a determination that the first press of the hardware button satisfies a second set of criteria different from the first set of criteria, wherein the second set of criteria includes a second subset of criteria that is satisfied when the respective input includes a press of a second type different from the first type, changing a value of a first setting of the one or more settings to a first value based on the respective input.
22 . A method, comprising:
at a computer system that is in communication with a display generation component, one or more cameras, and a hardware button:
detecting, via the hardware button, a respective input that includes a first press of the hardware button;
in accordance with a determination that the first press of the hardware button satisfies a first set of criteria, wherein the first set of criteria includes a first subset of criteria that is satisfied when the respective input includes a press of a first type, displaying, via the display generation component, a menu of one or more settings that can be associated with the hardware button; and
in accordance with a determination that the first press of the hardware button satisfies a second set of criteria different from the first set of criteria, wherein the second set of criteria includes a second subset of criteria that is satisfied when the respective input includes a press of a second type different from the first type, changing a value of a first setting of the one or more settings to a first value based on the respective input.
23 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 , wherein:
the first subset of criteria includes a first criterion that is satisfied when the first press of the hardware button includes a multiple-press sequence.
24 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 , wherein the first setting includes a media capture setting.
25 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 , wherein the first set of criteria and the second set of criteria include a respective criterion that is satisfied when the first press of the hardware button is detected while displaying, via the display generation component, a respective application.
26 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 , wherein displaying the menu of the one or more settings includes:
displaying one or more menu items corresponding to the one or more settings; and
while a respective setting of the one or more settings is associated with the hardware button, visually indicating a respective menu item of the one or more menu items corresponding to the respective setting.
27 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 , the one or more programs further including instructions for:
while displaying the menu of the one or more settings, detecting a first input; and
in response to detecting the first input:
in accordance with a determination that the first input corresponds to a selection of a respective setting of the one or more settings, ceasing displaying the menu of the one or more settings.
28 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 , the one or more programs further including instructions for:
while displaying the menu of one or more settings, detecting a second input;
in response to detecting the second input:
in accordance with a determination that the second input does not correspond to a selection of a respective setting of the one or more settings, ceasing displaying the menu of one or more settings.
29 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 , wherein changing the value of the first setting of the one or more settings to the first value includes displaying, via the display generation component, an indication of the first value.
30 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 , the one or more programs further including instructions for:
after changing the value of the first setting of the one or more settings to the first value, detecting, via the hardware button, a second respective input that includes a second press of the hardware button; and
in accordance with a determination that the second press of the hardware button satisfies the second set of criteria, changing the value of the first setting to a second value different from the first value.
31 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 , the one or more programs further including instructions for:
in response to detecting the first press of the hardware button, displaying, via the display generation component, an animation of a graphical element, wherein the animation of the graphical element visually represents the first press.
32 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 , the one or more programs further including instructions for:
while detecting the first press of the hardware button, displaying, via the display generation component, a user interface that includes one or more selectable user interface objects; and
in accordance with the determination that the first press of the hardware button satisfies the first set of criteria including the first subset of criteria that is satisfied when the first press is a press of the first type, ceasing displaying at least one selectable user interface object of the one or more selectable user interface objects.
33 . The method of claim 22 , wherein:
the first subset of criteria includes a first criterion that is satisfied when the first press of the hardware button includes a multiple-press sequence.
34 . The method of claim 22 , wherein the first setting includes a media capture setting.
35 . The method of claim 22 , wherein the first set of criteria and the second set of criteria include a respective criterion that is satisfied when the first press of the hardware button is detected while displaying, via the display generation component, a respective application.
36 . The method of claim 22 , wherein displaying the menu of the one or more settings includes:
displaying one or more menu items corresponding to the one or more settings; and
while a respective setting of the one or more settings is associated with the hardware button, visually indicating a respective menu item of the one or more menu items corresponding to the respective setting.
37 . The method of claim 22 , further comprising:
while displaying the menu of the one or more settings, detecting a first input; and
in response to detecting the first input:
in accordance with a determination that the first input corresponds to a selection of a respective setting of the one or more settings, ceasing displaying the menu of the one or more settings.
38 . The method of claim 22 , further comprising:
while displaying the menu of one or more settings, detecting a second input;
in response to detecting the second input:
in accordance with a determination that the second input does not correspond to a selection of a respective setting of the one or more settings, ceasing displaying the menu of one or more settings.
39 . The method of claim 22 , wherein changing the value of the first setting of the one or more settings to the first value includes displaying, via the display generation component, an indication of the first value.
40 . The method of claim 22 , further comprising:
after changing the value of the first setting of the one or more settings to the first value, detecting, via the hardware button, a second respective input that includes a second press of the hardware button; and
in accordance with a determination that the second press of the hardware button satisfies the second set of criteria, changing the value of the first setting to a second value different from the first value.
41 . The method of claim 22 , further comprising:
in response to detecting the first press of the hardware button, displaying, via the display generation component, an animation of a graphical element, wherein the animation of the graphical element visually represents the first press.
42 . The method of claim 22 , further comprising:
while detecting the first press of the hardware button, displaying, via the display generation component, a user interface that includes one or more selectable user interface objects; and
in accordance with the determination that the first press of the hardware button satisfies the first set of criteria including the first subset of criteria that is satisfied when the first press is a press of the first type, ceasing displaying at least one selectable user interface object of the one or more selectable user interface objects.
