Supplementary uplink in wireless systems
Supplementary uplink (SUL) may be used in wireless systems. Cell suitability criteria may be provided for cells configured with SUL. A Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit (WTRU) may receive paging with an indication of a carrier (e.g., SUL or regular uplink (RUL) in which to initiate part or all of an initial access. A WTRU that may be performing response-driven paging may provide (e.g. explicit) beam information for beamforming of a paging message on a non-beamformed SUL. A handover (HO) procedure (e.g., carrier selection, configuration handling, HO failure, etc.) may be provided for a WTRU with a configured SUL. A WTRU may request a change of a configured UL. A WTRU may (e.g., autonomously) perform a switch to a different (e.g., configured) uplink, for example, when one or more conditions may be met (e.g., conditional switch). Semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) resources/configuration may be relocated from a first UL to a second UL.
1 . A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising a processor, the processor configured to:
receive configuration information for a cell supporting a regular uplink (RUL) carrier and a supplementary uplink (SUL) carrier, the configuration information comprising first semi-persistent schedule (SPS) configuration information associated with the RUL carrier, and second SPS configuration information associated with the SUL carrier;
perform one or more measurements associated with the cell to determine a measurement value;
determine whether to transmit in accordance with the first SPS configuration information associated with the RUL carrier or in accordance and with the second SPS configuration associated with the SUL based on the determined measurement value; and
transmit an uplink transmission in accordance with the first SPS configuration information associated with the RUL carrier or in accordance with the second SPS configuration associated with the SUL based on the determination.

The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to determine whether to transmit in accordance with the first SPS configuration information associated with the RUL carrier or in accordance with the second SPS configuration associated with the SUL based on whether the determined measurement value is above a configured threshold.
3 . The WTRU of claim 2 , wherein measurement value corresponds to a reference signal received power (RSRP) measurement value.
4 . The WTRU of claim 3 , wherein the processor is configured to transmit the uplink transmission in accordance with the first SPS configuration information associated with the RUL carrier if the RSRP measurement value is above the configured threshold.
5 . The WTRU of claim 3 , wherein the processor is configured to transmit the uplink transmission in accordance with the second SPS configuration information associated with the SUL carrier if the RSRP measurement value is below the configured threshold.
6 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the configured threshold is indicated in a system information block.
7 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the one or more measurements are performed on the RUL carrier.
8 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the one or more measurements are performed on the SUL carrier.
9 . A method performed by a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), the method comprising:
receiving configuration information for a cell supporting a regular uplink (RUL) carrier and a supplementary uplink (SUL) carrier, the configuration information comprising first semi-persistent schedule (SPS) configuration information associated with the RUL carrier, and second SPS configuration information associated with the SUL carrier;
performing one or more measurements associated with the cell to determine a measurement value;
determining whether to transmit in accordance with the first SPS configuration information associated with the RUL carrier or in accordance with the second SPS configuration associated with the SUL based on the determined measurement value; and
transmitting an uplink transmission in accordance with the first SPS configuration information associated with the RUL carrier or in accordance with the second SPS configuration associated with the SUL based on the determination.

The method of claim 9 , wherein determining whether to transmit in accordance with the first SPS configuration information associated with the RUL carrier or in accordance with the second SPS configuration associated with the SUL is based on whether the determined measurement value is above a configured threshold.
11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein measurement value corresponds to a reference signal received power (RSRP) measurement value.
12 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the configured threshold is indicated in a system information block.
13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the WTRU transmits the uplink transmission in accordance with the first SPS configuration information associated with the RUL carrier if the RSRP measurement value is above the configured threshold.
14 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the WTRU transmits the uplink transmission in accordance with the second SPS configuration information associated with the SUL carrier if the RSRP measurement value is below the configured threshold.
15 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the one or more measurements are performed on the RUL carrier.
16 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the one or more measurements are performed on the SUL carrier.
17 . A base station comprising a processor configured to:
send configuration information to a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), the configuration information associated with for a cell supporting a regular uplink (RUL) carrier and a supplementary uplink (SUL) carrier, wherein the configuration information comprise first semi-persistent schedule (SPS) configuration information associated with the RUL carrier and second SPS configuration information associated with the SUL carrier, wherein the first SPS configuration is provided for use by the WTRU if a measurement value is above a configured threshold and the second SPS configuration is provide for use by the WTRU if the measurement value is below the configured threshold; and
receive an uplink transmission from the WTRU in accordance with the first SPS configuration information associated with the RUL carrier or in accordance with the second SPS configuration associated with the SUL.
18 . The base station of claim 17 , wherein the processor is configured transmit a system information block, the system information block indicating the configured threshold.
19 . The base station of claim 17 , wherein the measurement value corresponds to a reference signal received power (RSRP) threshold.
20 . The base station of claim 17 , wherein the RUL carrier is associated with a higher frequency range than the SUL carrier.
