Abstract

An ink jet recording apparatus includes a head unit, a cap unit, a wipe unit, a cover, an engagement member, a first cam, a second cam, a lifting mechanism, and a sliding mechanism. In the first state, the first cam moves the engagement member downward to the predetermined height or below and the second cam brings the cover into contact with the wipe unit, in the second state, the first cam moves the engagement member downward to the predetermined height or below and the second cam moves the cover upward to a height higher than the first state, and in the third state, the first cam moves the engagement member upward to the predetermined height or above and the second cam moves the cover upward to a height higher than the first state.

Claims (22)

1 . An ink jet recording apparatus comprising:

a head unit including one or more inkjet heads;

a cap unit including a cap covering a nozzle surface of the inkjet head;

a wipe unit which is mounted on the cap unit, and cleans the nozzle surface;

a cover provided above the wipe unit;

an engagement member which is provided so as to be movable upward and downward, and is engaged with the wipe unit to separate the wipe unit from the cap unit when it is moved upward higher than a predetermined height;

a first cam which moves the engagement member upward and downward;

a second cam which is interlocked with the first cam, and moves the cover upward and downward;

a lifting device which lifts and lowers the head unit relative to a conveyance path along which a sheet is conveyed; and

a sliding device which slides the cap unit to a maintenance position below the head unit relatively lifted by the lifting device and a home position on a lateral side of the maintenance position, wherein

the first cam and the second cam are displaced into a first state, a second state and a third state,

in the first state, the first cam moves the engagement member downward to the predetermined height or below and the second cam brings the cover into contact with the wipe unit,

in the second state, the first cam moves the engagement member downward to the predetermined height or below and the second cam moves the cover upward to a height higher than the first state, and

in the third state, the first cam moves the engagement member upward to the predetermined height or above and the second cam moves the cover upward to a height higher than the first state.

2 . The inkjet recording apparatus according to claim 1 , comprising:

a tension spring having an upper end connected to the engagement member and a lower end connected to the cover, wherein

the second cam is provided above the cover, and presses the cover downward against a biasing force of the tension spring, and

the engagement member has a contact portion which is in contact with the first cam and provided above the first cam.

3 . The inkjet recording apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein

in the third state, the cover is in contact with the wipe unit.

4 . The inkjet recording apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein

displacement from the first state to the second state, displacement from the second state to the third state and displacement from the third state to the first state are achieved by rotation of the first cam and the second cam in one direction.
