displaying, in a second portion of the user interface, a plurality of selectable user images based on relationship information associated with the user account, wherein each of the plurality of selectable user images represents another user account that is connected to the user account;

receiving media consumption information corresponding to a plurality of user accounts from the one or more media servers;

in response to receiving the media consumption information from the one or more media servers, determining whether the media consumption information, user interactions with the media player, and a predetermined time elapsing correspond to at least one of the plurality of selectable user images currently being displayed in the second portion of the user interface; and

in response to determining that at least the portion of the media consumption information, the user interactions with the media player, and the predetermined time elapsing correspond to at least one of the plurality of selectable user images currently being displayed in the second portion of the user interface, automatically updating, without receiving input from a user of the user account, the plurality of selectable user images being displayed in the second portion of the user interface with the portion of the media consumption information.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the selectable user images in the plurality of selectable user images are further selected for display based on the media consumption information that includes at least one of: users currently tuned to a same station being provided by the media stream, users listening to a same song being provided by the media stream, users listening to music being provided by the media stream from a same artist, users listening to a song from a same album corresponding to media being provided by the media stream, and users that have added media including media being provided by the media stream to a playlist.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the selectable user images in the plurality of selectable user images are further selected for display based on user preferences associated with the user account.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the selectable user images in the plurality of selectable user images are further selected for display based on demographic information associated with the user account.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the selectable user images in the plurality of selectable user images are further selected for display based on prior interaction information with the user interface.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the selectable user images in the plurality of selectable user images are further selected for display based on prior interaction information with one or more selectable user images.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the selectable user images in the plurality of selectable user images are further selected for display based on user interaction information with a social networking website corresponding to a social network on which the user account is connected to the another user account.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the selectable user images in the plurality of selectable user images are further selected for display based on user interaction information with a third-party website.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises, in response to receiving a selection of one of the selectable user images from the updated plurality of selectable user images, displaying information associated with the selected user image and providing the user of the user account that provided the selection of the selected user image with an opportunity to interact with a second user associated with the another user account corresponding to the selected user image.

10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein providing the user of the user account that provided the selection of the selected user image with the opportunity to interact with the second user associated with the another user account corresponding to the selected user image comprises allowing the user to perform at least one of: transmitting a message, directing the user to media associated with the selected user image, and sharing media with the second user.

11 . A method for facilitating connectivity between users, the method comprising:

displaying, in a first portion of a user interface, a media player that receives a media stream of a plurality of media streams, wherein each of the plurality of media streams is selected based on music preferences associated with a user account and wherein each of the plurality of media streams is received from one or more media servers;

displaying, in a second portion of the user interface, a plurality of selectable user images based on relationship information associated with the user account, wherein each of the plurality of selectable user images represents a member account that is registered with a media service that provides the media player and that is connected to the user account via a social network;

receiving media consumption information corresponding to a plurality of user accounts from the one or more media servers;

in response to receiving the media consumption information from the one or more media servers, determining whether the media consumption information, user interactions with the media player, and a predetermined time elapsing correspond to at least one of the plurality of selectable user images currently being displayed in the second portion of the user interface; and

in response to determining that at least the portion of the media consumption information, the user interactions with the media player, and the predetermined time elapsing correspond to at least one of the plurality of selectable user images currently being displayed in the second portion of the user interface, automatically updating, without receiving input from a user of the user account, the plurality of selectable user images being displayed in the second portion of the user interface with the portion of the media consumption information.

12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the selectable user images in the plurality of selectable user images are further selected for display based on the media consumption information that includes at least one of: users currently tuned to a same station being provided by the media stream, users listening to a same song being provided by the media stream, users listening to music being provided by the media stream from a same artist, users listening to a song from a same album corresponding to media being provided by the media stream, and users that have added media including media being provided by the media stream to a playlist.
