Abstract

Provided are M signal processors that respectively generate modulated signals for M reception apparatuses (where M is an integer equal to 2 or greater), a multiplexing signal processor, and N antenna sections (where N is an integer equal to 1 or greater). When transmitting multiple streams, each of the M signal processors generates two mapped signals, generates first and second precoded signals by precoding the two mapped signals, periodically changes the phase of signal points in the IQ plane with respect to the second precoded signal, outputs the phase-changed signal, and outputs the first precoded signal and the phase-changed second precoded signal as two modulated signals. When transmitting a single stream, each of the M signal processor outputs a single modulated signal. The multiplexing signal processor multiplexes the modulated signals output from the M signal processors, and generates N multiplexed signals. The N antenna sections respectively transmit the N multiplexed signals.

Claims (36)

1 . A communication apparatus comprising:

a transmitter which, in operation, transmits UE capability information including a multi-stream field and a precoding field, the multi-stream field indicating whether multi-stream is supported or not by the communication apparatus and the precoding field indicating a modulation method with precoding is supported by the communication apparatus;

a receiver which, in operation, receives N multiplexed signal streams (N is an integer equal to 2 or greater) that are generated based on the multi-stream field by a communication partner apparatus; and

signal processing circuitry which, in operation, performs signal processing on the N multiplexed signal streams based on the multi-stream field and the precoding field,

wherein the N multiplexed signal streams are generated by the communication partner apparatus by generating transmission streams based on the multi-stream field and the precoding field.

2 . The communication apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein

the UE capability information includes an OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) capability field for indicating whether an OFDM scheme is supported or not; and

when the OFDM capability field indicates that the OFDM scheme is supported for the communication apparatus, one or more OFDM symbols are generated by applying OFDM processing on a symbol sequence.

3 . The communication apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein

the UE capability information includes a Phase Hopping capability field for indicating whether Phase Hopping is supported or not; and

when the Phase Hopping capability field indicates that the Phase Hopping is supported for the communication apparatus, the Phase Hopping is performed by the communication partner apparatus to generate the transmission streams.

4 . The communication apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein

the UE capability information includes a Modulation Coding Scheme (MCS) capability field for indicating MCS supported by the communication apparatus; and

one or more transmission streams are generated by the communication partner apparatus by using the MCS indicated in the MCS capability field.

5 . The communication apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein

when the multi-stream field indicates that the multi-stream is supported by the communication apparatus, two or more transmission streams are generated by the communication partner apparatus, and

when the multi-stream field indicates that the multi-stream is not supported by the communication apparatus, one transmission stream is generated by the communication partner apparatus.

6 . The communication apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein when the precoding field indicates a specific precoding method, two transmission streams are generated by the communication partner apparatus by using the specific precoding method.

7 . A communication method for a communication apparatus, the communication method comprising:

transmitting UE capability information including a multi-stream field and a precoding field, the multi-stream field indicating whether multi-stream is supported or not by the communication apparatus and the precoding field indicating a modulation method with precoding is supported by the communication apparatus;

receiving N multiplexed signal streams (N is an integer equal to 2 or greater) that are generated based on the multi-stream field by a communication partner apparatus; and

performing signal processing on the N multiplexed signal streams based on the multi-stream field and the precoding field,

wherein the N multiplexed signal streams are generated by the communication partner apparatus by generating transmission streams based on the multi-stream field and the precoding field.

8 . The communication method according to claim 7 , wherein

the UE capability information includes an OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) capability field for indicating whether an OFDM scheme is supported or not; and

when the OFDM capability field indicates that the OFDM scheme is supported for the communication apparatus, one or more OFDM symbols are generated by applying OFDM processing on a symbol sequence.

9 . The communication method according to claim 7 , wherein

the UE capability information includes a Phase Hopping capability field for indicating whether Phase Hopping is supported or not; and

when the Phase Hopping capability field indicates that the Phase Hopping is supported for the communication apparatus, the Phase Hopping is performed by the communication partner apparatus to generate the transmission streams.

10 . The communication method according to claim 7 , wherein

the UE capability information includes a Modulation Coding Scheme (MCS) capability field for indicating MCS supported by the communication apparatus; and

one or more transmission streams are generated by the communication partner apparatus by using the MCS indicated in the MCS capability field.

11 . The communication method according to claim 7 , wherein

when the multi-stream field indicates that the multi-stream is supported by the communication apparatus, two or more transmission streams are generated by the communication partner apparatus, and

when the multi-stream field indicates that the multi-stream is not supported by the communication apparatus, one transmission stream is generated by the communication partner apparatus.

12 . The communication method according to claim 7 , wherein when the precoding field indicates a specific precoding method, two transmission streams are generated by the communication partner apparatus by using the specific precoding method.
