Abstract

Disclosed herein are system, apparatus, article of manufacture, method and/or computer program product embodiments, and/or combinations and sub-combinations thereof, for determining an number of slots for achieving a desired reach specified in a media content delivery schedule. The system, apparatus, article of manufacture, method, and/or computer program product aspects is designed with a simulation framework tuned to predict an estimate the needed number of slots based on a reach specified in the delivery schedule.

delivering the linear content via the network channel to the one or more media devices based on the optimized content schedule.

2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the primary content comprises at least one of television program content and movie content.

3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the supplemental content comprises at least one of an advertisement, interactive content, and content associated with the primary content.

4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein generating the optimized content schedule further comprises:

identifying slots in the optimized content schedule corresponding to the updated number of segments; and

inserting the updated supplemental content in the identified slots.

5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining, by a second relationship model, a second updated number of segments to be allocated to the supplemental content based on the target impression, the network channel, and a second daypart;

generating a second optimized content schedule by updating the content schedule to include the second updated number of segments;

updating the supplemental content in the second optimized content schedule based on the second updated number of segments; and

delivering the linear content via the network channel to the one or more media devices based on the second optimized content schedule.

6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 5 , wherein the second relationship model is different from the relationship model, wherein the relationship model is associated with the network channel and the daypart, and the second relationship model is associated with the network channel and the second daypart.

7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving, from a media device of the one or more media devices, a request for the linear content, wherein the request comprises the network channel and the daypart, and wherein the linear content is delivered to the one or more media devices based on the optimized content schedule responsive to receiving the request.

8 . A media server, comprising:

at least one memory; and

at least one processor coupled to the at least one memory and configured to perform operations comprising:

inputting a content schedule into a relationship model, wherein the content schedule comprises linear content distributed within a plurality of segments, wherein the linear content comprises primary content and supplemental content, wherein the content schedule comprises a timeline for delivering the linear content according to a network channel and a daypart to one or more media devices, wherein the content schedule includes a proposed number of segments allocated to the supplemental content, and wherein the content schedule comprises a number of desired impressions for the supplemental content;

determining, by the relationship model, an updated number of segments to be allocated to the supplemental content based on a target impression, the network channel, and the daypart;

generating an optimized content schedule by updating the content schedule to include the updated number of segments instead of the proposed number of segments;

updating the supplemental content in the optimized content schedule based on the updated number of segments; and

delivering the linear content via the network channel to the one or more media devices based on the optimized content schedule.

9 . The media server of claim 8 , wherein the primary content comprises at least one of television program content and movie content.

10 . The media server of claim 8 , wherein the supplemental content comprises at least one of an advertisement, interactive content, and content associated with the primary content.

11 . The media server of claim 8 , wherein to generate the optimized content schedule, the at least one processor is further configured to:

identify slots in the optimized content schedule corresponding to the updated number of segments; and

insert the updated supplemental content in the identified slots.

12 . The media server of claim 8 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:

determine, by a second relationship model, a second updated number of segments to be allocated to the supplemental content based on the target impression, the network channel, and a second daypart;

generate a second optimized content schedule by updating the content schedule to include the second updated number of segments;

update the supplemental content in the second optimized content schedule based on the second updated number of segments; and

deliver the linear content via the network channel to the one or more media devices based on the second optimized content schedule.

13 . The media server of claim 12 , wherein the second relationship model is different from the relationship model, wherein the relationship model is associated with the network channel and the daypart, and the second relationship model is associated with the network channel and the second daypart.

14 . The media server of claim 8 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:
