Abstract

There is disclosed a method of operating a wireless device in a wireless communication network. The method includes transmitting a measurement report, the measurement report being indicative of a combination of a first set of measurement results, the first set of measurement results at least comprising a first measurement result pertaining to first reference signaling received by the wireless device and a second measurement result pertaining to second reference signaling received by the wireless device. The disclosure also pertains to related devices and methods.

Claims (23)

1 . A method of operating a wireless device in a wireless communication network, the method comprising:

transmitting a measurement report, the measurement report being indicative of a combination of a first set of measurement results, the first set of measurement results at least comprising a first measurement result pertaining to first reference signaling received by the wireless device and a second measurement result pertaining to second reference signaling received by the wireless device, the first set of measurement results pertaining to different reference signalings transmitted with different non-orthogonal polarisations.

The method according to claim 1 , wherein the first combination is based on a combining type, which is based on at least one or more of determining a minimum of the measurement results of the first set of measurement results, or determining a maximum of the measurement results of the first set of measurement results, or determining an average or mean value of the measurement results of the first set of measurement results, or determining an effective exponential mapping of the measurement results of the first set of measurement results, or determining a weighted average or mean value of the measurement results of the first set of measurement values.

3 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the measurement report comprises a first measurement result indication indicative of the first combination.

4 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the measurement report is indicative of different first combinations pertaining to different first sets of measurement results.

5 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the first set of measurement results pertains to one beam carrying at least the first reference signaling and the second reference signaling.

6 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the first set of measurement results pertains to Channel State Information Reference Signaling or Synchronisation Signaling.

7 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the first combination is determined based on a combination type configured or configurable or indicatable to the wireless device.

8 . A wireless device for a wireless communication network, the wireless device configured to:

transmit a measurement report, the measurement report being indicative of a first combination of a first set of measurement results, the first set of measurement results at least comprising a first measurement result pertaining to first reference signaling received by the wireless device and a second measurement result pertaining to second reference signaling received by the wireless device, the first set of measurement results pertaining to different reference signalings transmitted with different non-orthogonal polarisations.

The wireless device according to claim 8 , wherein the first combination is based on a combining type, which is based on at least one or more of determining a minimum of the measurement results of the first set of measurement results, or determining a maximum of the measurement results of the first set of measurement results, or determining an average or mean value of the measurement results of the first set of measurement results, or determining an effective exponential mapping of the measurement results of the first set of measurement results, or determining a weighted average or mean value of the measurement results of the first set of measurement values.

10 . A method of operating a network node in a wireless communication network, the method comprising:

receiving a measurement report from a wireless device, the measurement report being indicative of a combination of a first set of measurement results, the first set of measurement results at least comprising a plurality of measurement results comprising a first measurement result pertaining to first reference signaling received by the wireless device and a second measurement result pertaining to second reference signaling received by the wireless device, the first set of measurement results pertaining to different reference signalings transmitted with different non-orthogonal polarisations.

The method according to claim 10 , wherein the first combination is based on a combining type, which is based on at least one or more of determining a minimum of the measurement results of the first set of measurement results, or determining a maximum of the measurement results of the first set of measurement results, or determining an average or mean value of the measurement results of the first set of measurement results, or determining an effective exponential mapping of the measurement results of the first set of measurement results, or determining a weighted average or mean value of the measurement results of the first set of measurement values.

12 . The method according to claim 10 , wherein the measurement report comprises a first measurement result indication indicative of the first combination.

13 . The method according to claim 10 , wherein the measurement report is indicative of different first combinations pertaining to different first sets of measurement results.

14 . The method according to claim 10 , wherein the first set of measurement results pertains to one beam carrying at least the first reference signaling and the second reference signaling.

15 . The method according to claim 10 , wherein the first set of measurement results pertains to Channel State Information Reference Signaling or Synchronisation Signaling.

16 . The method according to claim 10 , wherein the first combination is determined based on a combination type configured or configurable or indicatable to the wireless device.

17 . A network node for a wireless communication network, the network node configured to:

receive a measurement report from a wireless device, the measurement report being indicative of a combination of a first set of measurement results, the first set of measurement results at least comprising a first measurement result pertaining to first reference signaling received by the wireless device and a second measurement result pertaining to second reference signaling received by the wireless device, the first set of measurement results pertaining to different reference signalings transmitted with different non-orthogonal polarisations.

18 . A non-transitory computer storage medium storing a computer program comprising instructions causing processing circuitry to one or both control and perform a method, the method comprising:

transmitting a measurement report, the measurement report being indicative of a combination of a first set of measurement results, the first set of measurement results at least comprising a first measurement result pertaining to first reference signaling received by a wireless device and a second measurement result pertaining to second reference signaling received by the wireless device, the first set of measurement results pertaining to different reference signalings transmitted with different non-orthogonal polarisations.
