Abstract

Wireless communications for asymmetric services are described. Asymmetric services (e.g., for downlink or uplink) may be associated with each other. Resources may be configured based on an association of asymmetric services.

Claims (60)

1 . A method comprising:

sending, by a wireless device, a request for establishment of a second communication session associated with a wireless device application, wherein the request indicates an association between a first communication session, associated with a wireless device application and associated with an internet protocol (IP) address, and the second communication session; and

receiving a message indicating, for the second communication session, the IP address.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

sending, via the first communication session, a first data packet comprising the IP address; and

receiving, via the second communication session, a second data packet comprising the IP address.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the request comprises a session correlation indication indicating that the second communication session is associated with the first communication session.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the request indicates that a first network slice for the first communication session is associated with a second network slice for the second communication session.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the request indicates that the first communication session is associated with a first service type and the second communication session is associated with a second service type different from the first service type.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein:

the first communication session is for downlink traffic associated with the wireless device application and the second communication session is for uplink traffic associated with the wireless device application, or

the first communication session is for uplink traffic associated with the wireless device application and the second communication session is for downlink traffic associated with the wireless device application.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first communication session is a first packet data unit (PDU) session and the second communication session is a second PDU session.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first communication session is associated with a first slice service type (SST) and the second communication session is associated with a second SST.

9 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving a message indicating, for the first communication session, the IP address.

10 . A method comprising:

receiving, by a first device from a second device, a request for establishment of a second communication session associated with a wireless device application, wherein the request indicates an association between a first communication session, associated with the wireless device application and associated with an internet protocol (IP) address, and the second communication session; and

sending, to the second device and for the second communication session, a message indicating the IP address.

11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the first device is a session management function (SMF) device and the second device is an access and mobility management function (AMF) device.

12 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising:

sending, to a first user plane function (UPF) device for the first communication session, a first user plane rule comprising the IP address; and

sending, to a second UPF device for the second communication session, a second user plane rule comprising the IP address.

13 . The method of claim 10 , wherein:

the first communication session is for downlink traffic associated with the wireless device application and the second communication session is for uplink traffic associated with the wireless device application, or

the first communication session is for uplink traffic associated with the wireless device application and the second communication session is for downlink traffic associated with the wireless device application.

14 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the request comprises a session correlation indication indicating that the second communication session is associated with the first communication session.

15 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the request indicates that a first network slice for the first communication session is associated with a second network slice for the second communication session.

16 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising determining, based on the first communication session and the second communication session being associated with the wireless device application, that the IP address is associated with the second communication session.

17 . A wireless device comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:

send a request for establishment of a second communication session associated with a wireless device application, wherein the request indicates an association between a first communication session, associated with a wireless device application and associated with an internet protocol (IP) address, and the second communication session; and

receive a message indicating, for the second communication session, the IP address.

18 . The wireless device of claim 17 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:

send, via the first communication session, a first data packet comprising the IP address; and

receive, via the second communication session, a second data packet comprising the IP address.

19 . The wireless device of claim 17 , wherein the request comprises a session correlation indication indicating that the second communication session is associated with the first communication session.

20 . The wireless device of claim 17 , wherein the request indicates that a first network slice for the first communication session is associated with a second network slice for the second communication session.

21 . The wireless device of claim 17 , wherein the request indicates that the first communication session is associated with a first service type and the second communication session is associated with a second service type different from the first service type.

22 . The wireless device of claim 17 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to send the request by causing sending, via a base station, the request to an access and mobility management functions (AMF) device.

23 . The wireless device of claim 17 , wherein:

the first communication session is for downlink traffic associated with the wireless device application and the second communication session is for uplink traffic associated with the wireless device application, or

the first communication session is for uplink traffic associated with the wireless device application and the second communication session is for downlink traffic associated with the wireless device application.

24 . The wireless device of claim 17 , wherein the first communication session is a first packet data unit (PDU) session and the second communication session is a second PDU session.

25 . The wireless device of claim 17 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to receive a message indicating, for the first communication session, the IP address.

26 . A first device comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the first device to:

receive, from a second device, a request for establishment of a second communication session associated with a wireless device application, wherein the request indicates an association between a first communication session, associated with the wireless device application and associated with an internet protocol (IP) address, and the second communication session; and

sending, to the second device for the second communication session, a message indicating the IP address.

27 . The first device of claim 26 , wherein the first device is a session management function (SMF) device and the second device is an access and mobility management function (AMF) device.

28 . The first device of claim 26 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the first device to:
