Abstract

A display device comprising a substrate provided with a plurality of subpixels, a light-emitting diode formed in each of the plurality of subpixels on the substrate, and an optical film formed on the light-emitting diode above the entire surface of the substrate, wherein the optical film includes first and second regions having different materials.

Claims (43)

1 . A display device comprising:

a plurality of subpixels disposed on a substrate;

a light-emitting diode formed in each of the plurality of subpixels; and

an optical film disposed on the substrate and above the light-emitting diodes,

wherein the optical film includes a first region overlapping at least a portion of each of the light-emitting diodes, and a second region disposed between the light-emitting diodes, and

wherein the first region includes a light blocking material, and the second region includes a material different from the first region.

2 . The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the light-emitting diode emits light in a direction having an inclination with respect to an upper surface of the optical film.

3 . The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the second region includes a transparent insulating material.

4 . The display device according to claim 3 , wherein the light blocking material includes a black dye.

5 . The display device according to claim 2 , wherein the second region further includes a diffusion material.

6 . The display device according to claim 5 , wherein the diffusion material is in a form of bead made of resin.

7 . The display device according to claim 6 , wherein the bead is made of one or more of polymethyl methacrylate PMMA, polybutyl methacrylate PBMA, polystyrene PS.

8 . The display device according to claim 2 , wherein the plurality of subpixels are arranged in a matrix type along a first direction and a second direction perpendicular to the first direction,

wherein the first and second regions are alternately arranged in the first direction, and

each of the first and second regions extends in the second direction.

9 . The display device according to claim 8 , wherein the plurality of subpixels include first and second subpixels adjacent to each other in the first direction,

the first region overlaps with the light-emitting diode formed in each of the first and second subpixels, and

the second region is formed in a boundary area of the first and second subpixels.

10 . The display device according to claim 9 , wherein the first and second subpixels emit light in different directions.

11 . The display device according to claim 9 , wherein the first and second subpixels display different images.

12 . A display device comprising:

a plurality of subpixels disposed on a substrate and arranged in a matrix type along a first direction and a second direction perpendicular to the first direction;

a light-emitting diode formed in each of the plurality of subpixels; and

an optical film disposed on the substrate and above the light-emitting diodes,

wherein:

the optical film includes a first region and a second region alternately arranged in the first direction, extend in the second direction, and include different materials;

the light-emitting diode is configured to emit light in a direction having an inclination with respect to an upper surface of the optical film;

the plurality of subpixels include first and second subpixels adjacent to each other in the first direction;

the first region overlaps with the light-emitting diode formed in each of the first and second subpixels; and

the second region is formed in a boundary area of the first and second subpixels.

13 . The display device according to claim 12 , wherein the first region includes a light blocking material, and the second region includes a transparent insulating material.

14 . The display device according to claim 12 , wherein the second region includes a diffusion material.

15 . The display device according to claim 12 , wherein the first and second subpixels are configured to emit light in different directions.

16 . The display device according to claim 12 , wherein the first and second subpixels are configured to display different images.

17 . A display device comprising:

a plurality of subpixels disposed on a substrate;

a light-emitting diode formed in each of the plurality of subpixels; and

an optical film disposed on the substrate and above the light-emitting diodes,

wherein the optical film includes a first region overlapping at least a portion of each of the light-emitting diodes, and a second region disposed between the light-emitting diodes, and

wherein the second region is configured to transmit a greater amount of light than the first region.

18 . The display device according to claim 17 , wherein the first region includes a light blocking material, and the second region includes a transparent insulating material.

19 . The display device according to claim 17 , wherein the second region includes a diffusion material.

20 . The display device according to claim 12 , wherein at least some of the subpixels are configured to display different images.
