Abstract

A method of streamlined selection and application of a makeup look involving personalized makeup look recommendations with respective step-by-step makeup routine instructions for executing a selected makeup look. A predictive model identifies one or more makeup look recommendations from a database of makeup looks to present to a user. Recommendations are generated from a combination of user demographic data, user-input preferences, social networking analytics (e.g., frequently used makeup looks among users such as “trending” makeup looks), and user behavioral history data obtained from a smart device application and a smart cosmetic device system. Each respective makeup look can be executed from a respective detailed tutorial guide comprising step-by-step instructions on how to apply cosmetic substances to achieve the respective makeup look.

Claims (58)

1 . A computer-implemented method of streamlined selection and application of a makeup look, the method implemented by a smart cosmetic device system comprising at least one Internet-of-Things (IoT) cosmetic device having one or more sensors and communicatively coupled to a computing device executing makeup recommendation logic, including:

receiving, by the computing device, device configuration data detected by the one or more sensors of the at least one IoT cosmetic device, the device configuration data identifying at least one of: cosmetic substance color, cosmetic substance volume, and cosmetic substance formula ingredients;

generating, by the makeup recommendation logic trained on user behavioral history, the catalogue of makeup looks that presents respective makeup routines executable in respective time spans, wherein the catalogue is filtered based on the device configuration data to exclude makeup routines requiring cosmetic substances unavailable in the at least one IoT cosmetic device;

receiving a selection of at least one makeup routine in the presented respective makeup routines; and

providing step-by-step instructions for executing a selected makeup routine, the instructions comprising a graphical user interface displaying, for the selected makeup routine, a simulation of makeup application on a user's face.

2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein execution of a makeup routine results in realization of a corresponding makeup look.

3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the respective makeup routines include a ten-minute makeup look, a five-minute makeup look, and a three-minute makeup look, and wherein the respective time spans include ten minutes, five minutes, and three minutes.

4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further including:

recommending the catalogue of makeup looks that further presents respective makeup routines applicable to respective placement areas;

receiving a selection of at least one makeup routine in the presented respective makeup routines; and

providing step-by-step instructions for executing the selected makeup routine.

5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 4 , wherein the respective makeup routines include an eye-specific makeup look, a lip-specific makeup look, and a nose-specific makeup look, and wherein the respective placement areas include eyes, lips, and nose.

6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further including:

recommending the catalogue of makeup looks that further presents respective makeup routines applicable to respective aesthetic vibes;

receiving a selection of at least one makeup routine in the presented respective makeup routines; and

providing step-by-step instructions for executing the selected makeup routine.

7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 6 , wherein the respective makeup routines include a playful makeup look, a fierce makeup look, and a tender makeup look, and wherein the respective aesthetic vibes include playful, fierce, and tender.

8 . The computer-implemented method of claim 6 , wherein the aesthetic vibes are inferred based on previously selected makeup routines.

9 . The computer-implemented method of claim 6 , wherein the aesthetic vibes are provided by a user.

10 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further including:

recommending the catalogue of makeup looks that further presents a plurality of makeup routines applicable by one or more previously selected makeup looks;

receiving a selection of at least one makeup routine in the presented plurality of makeup routines; and

providing step-by-step instructions for executing the selected makeup routine.

11 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further including:

recommending the catalogue of makeup looks that further presents a plurality of makeup routines applicable by one or more currently trending makeup looks;

receiving a selection of at least one makeup routine in the presented plurality of makeup routines; and

providing step-by-step instructions for executing the selected makeup routine.

12 . The computer-implemented method of claim 11 , wherein the currently trending makeup looks are inferred from most frequently selected makeup looks in one or more online networks.

13 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further including:

recommending the catalogue of makeup looks that further presents a plurality of makeup routines applicable by one or more newly added makeup looks;

receiving a selection of at least one makeup routine in the presented plurality of makeup routines; and

providing step-by-step instructions for executing the selected makeup routine.

14 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further including:

recommending the catalogue of makeup looks that further presents respective makeup routines applicable to respective occasions;

receiving a selection of at least one makeup routine in the presented respective makeup routines; and

providing step-by-step instructions for executing the selected makeup routine.

15 . The computer-implemented method of claim 14 , wherein the respective makeup routines include a Thanksgiving makeup look, a Christmas makeup look, and a Valentine's Day makeup look, and wherein the respective occasions include Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentine's Day.

16 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further including:

recommending the catalogue of makeup looks that further presents respective makeup routines applicable to respective events;

receiving a selection of at least one makeup routine in the presented respective makeup routines; and

providing step-by-step instructions for executing the selected makeup routine.

17 . The computer-implemented method of claim 16 , wherein the respective makeup routines include a Monday makeup look, a Tuesday makeup look, and a Wednesday makeup look, and wherein the respective events include Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

18 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further including:

recommending the catalogue of makeup looks that further presents a plurality of makeup routines realizable by a particular color;

receiving a selection of at least one makeup routine in the presented plurality of makeup routines; and

providing step-by-step instructions for executing the selected makeup routine.

19 . A system comprising

at least one Internet-of-Things (IoT) cosmetic device comprising one or more sensors configured to detect device configuration data identifying at least one of: cosmetic substance color, cosmetic substance volume, and cosmetic substance formula ingredients;
