Abstract

The present disclosure relates to an ultraviolet light-blocking composition containing a centipede grass extract and a cosmetic composition and, more specifically, to an ultraviolet light-blocking composition comprising a centipede grass (Eremochloa ophiuroides) leaf extract as an active ingredient; and a cosmetic composition containing the ultraviolet light-blocking composition.

Claims (6)

1 . A method of blocking ultraviolet light, comprising applying a composition comprising a centipede grass (Eremochloa ophiuroides) leaf extract as an active ingredient to a subject's skin in need thereof,

wherein the centipede grass leaf extract is a hot water extract, which contains chlorogenic acid, orientin, isoorientin, rhamnosylisoorientin, derhamnosylmaysin, maysin, Luteolin, and Eremonetin,

wherein a concentration of the centipede grass (Eremochloa ophiuroides) leaf extract is 0.5 mg/ml or more, and

wherein the hot water extraction is performed at a temperature of 50° C. to 100° C. for 1 hour to 24 hours.

2 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the centipede grass leaf extract is extracted using 1 to 50 L of extraction solvent based on 1 kg of centipede grass leaves.

3 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the ultraviolet light-blocking composition is for blocking ultraviolet A and ultraviolet B.
