D-ring with multiple openings
A D-ring, comprising a body having a first surface and a second surface and a plurality of apertures formed through first and second surfaces. The D-ring comprises two or more separate rated apertures for receiving a device or a connector to a device. A first aperture is formed through the first and second surfaces and positioned on the distal portion of the body. A second aperture is formed through the first and second surfaces such that the second aperture is adjacent to the first aperture. Additionally, there is a belt receiving aperture formed through said first and second surfaces positioned on the proximal portion of the body.
1 . A body belt assembly, comprising:
a body pad comprising a surface; and
a first D-ring positioned adjacent to the surface of the body pad, wherein the first D-ring comprises:
a body having a first surface and a second surface extending in spaced relation to one another and further comprising a proximal portion, a distal portion, and a central longitudinal axis;
a main body area defined between a first outer portion extending substantially along a first plane and a second outer portion extending substantially along a second plane substantially parallel to the first plane;
a body extension area extending from the second outer portion of the main body area;
a first aperture having a first diameter formed through said first and second surfaces positioned on the distal portion of the body within the main body area;
a second aperture having a second diameter formed through said first and second surfaces such that the second aperture is adjacent to and offset from the first aperture being positioned in between the distal and proximal portions of the body wherein the majority of the second aperture is positioned outside of the main body area wherein the first diameter is larger than the second diameter; and
a first receiving slot extending along a first receiving slot longitudinal axis from a first end to a second end thereof, wherein the first receiving slot longitudinal axis extends at an angle to the central longitudinal axis of the body and wherein the first receiving slot is positioned proximally to the first aperture and wholly positioned within the main body area.

The body belt assembly of claim 1 , wherein the first D-ring further comprises a second receiving slot extending along a second receiving slot longitudinal axis from a first end to a second end thereof, wherein the second receiving slot longitudinal axis extends at an angle to the central longitudinal axis of the body and the second receiving slot is positioned adjacent the first receiving slot and wholly positioned within the main body area.
3 . The body belt assembly of claim 2 , further comprising a belt strap having a first end terminating in a buckle and a second end, wherein the belt strap is connected to the surface of the body pad.
4 . The body belt assembly of claim 3 , wherein the first end of the belt strap is positioned through the first receiving slot of the first D-ring.
5 . The body belt assembly of claim 3 , further comprising a D-piece connected to the surface of the body pad and extending between a first end and a second end.
6 . The body belt assembly of claim 5 , wherein the D-piece is positioned between the belt strap and the body pad.
7 . The body belt assembly of claim 5 , wherein the first end of the D-piece is positioned through the second receiving slot of the first D-ring.
8 . The body belt assembly of claim 5 , further comprising a second D-ring positioned adjacent to the surface of the body pad.
9 . The body belt assembly of claim 8 , wherein the second D-ring further comprises:
a main body area defined between a first outer portion extending substantially along a first plane and a second outer portion extending substantially along a second plane substantially parallel to the first plane;
a body extension area extending from the second outer portion of the main body area, wherein the body does not extend beyond the first outer portion of the main body area;
a first aperture having a first diameter formed through said first and second surfaces positioned on the distal portion of the body within the main body area;
a second aperture having a second diameter formed through said first and second surfaces such that the second aperture is adjacent to and offset from the first aperture being positioned in between the distal and proximal portions of the body wherein the majority of the second aperture is positioned outside of the main body area wherein the first diameter is larger than the second diameter; and
a first receiving slot extending along a first receiving slot longitudinal axis from a first end to a second end thereof, wherein the first receiving slot longitudinal axis extends at an angle to the central longitudinal axis of the body and the first receiving slot is positioned proximally to the first aperture and wholly positioned within the main body area.

The body belt assembly of claim 9 , wherein the second D-ring further comprises a second receiving slot extending along a second receiving slot longitudinal axis from a first end to a second end thereof, wherein the second receiving slot longitudinal axis extends at an angle to the central longitudinal axis of the body and the second receiving slot is positioned adjacent the first receiving slot and wholly positioned within the main body area.
11 . The body belt assembly of claim 10 , wherein the second end of the belt strap is positioned through the first receiving slot of the second D-ring.
12 . The body belt assembly of claim 10 , wherein the second end of the D-piece is positioned through the second receiving slot of the second D-ring.
13 . The body belt assembly of claim 2 , wherein the portion of the body forming the first aperture is rounded such that the aperture is circular.
14 . The body belt assembly of claim 2 , wherein the portion of the body forming the first aperture is partially rounded such that the aperture is D-shaped.
15 . The body belt assembly of claim 2 , wherein the portion of the body forming the second aperture is rounded such that the aperture is circular.
16 . The body belt assembly of claim 2 , wherein the portion of the body forming the second aperture is partially rounded such that the aperture is D-shaped.
17 . The body belt assembly of claim 2 , wherein the first aperture has an inner edge that is radiused.
18 . The body belt assembly of claim 2 , wherein the second receiving slot comprises a tab.
