Abstract

The present technology relates to an autonomous moving object and an information processing method that make it possible to improve the ability in expression of the autonomous moving object. The autonomous moving object is an autonomous moving object that operates autonomously, and includes a light emission section that changes a color and brightness of a surface of the autonomous moving object, and a motion controlling section that controls a light emission pattern that is a pattern of the color and brightness of the light emission section, on the basis of a state of the autonomous moving object. The present technology can be applied, for example, to an autonomously movable robot that imitates a creature.

Claims (30)

1 . An autonomous moving object, comprising:

a light emission section configured to change at least one of a color of a surface of the autonomous moving object or a brightness of the surface of the autonomous moving object; and

a motion controlling section configured to control a light emission pattern of the light emission section, based on a state of the autonomous moving object, wherein

the light emission pattern is a pattern of the color of the surface of the autonomous moving object and the brightness of the surface of the autonomous moving object,

a speed of change of the light emission pattern of the light emission section is based on a speed at which the autonomous moving object walks or runs, and

the light emission pattern changes by movement of a lighted portion on the surface of the autonomous moving object.

2 . The autonomous moving object according to claim 1 , wherein the motion controlling section is further configured to associate a movement of a leg of the autonomous moving object with the light emission pattern.

3 . The autonomous moving object according to claim 2 , wherein the motion controlling section is further configured to associate a direction of a change of the light emission pattern on the leg with a direction of the movement of the leg of the autonomous moving object.

4 . The autonomous moving object according to claim 2 , wherein the motion controlling section is further configured to:

synchronize a timing, at which the autonomous moving object starts the walk or the run, with a timing at which the change in the light emission pattern is started; and

synchronize a timing, at which the autonomous moving object stops the walk or the run, with a timing at which the change of the light emission pattern is stopped.

5 . The autonomous moving object according to claim 1 , wherein the motion controlling section is further configured to associate a movement, at a time at which a body of the autonomous moving object is shaken, with the light emission pattern.

6 . The autonomous moving object according to claim 1 , wherein the motion controlling section is further configured to associate a movement of the autonomous moving object with a change of a design represented by the light emission pattern.

7 . The autonomous moving object according to claim 6 , wherein the design represents at least one of a costume of the autonomous moving object or a coat of hair of the autonomous moving object.

8 . The autonomous moving object according to claim 7 , wherein the motion controlling section is further configured to associate a music, of the movement of the autonomous moving object, with a change of the costume represented by the light emission pattern.

9 . The autonomous moving object according to claim 1 , wherein the motion controlling section is further configured to associate a movement of the autonomous moving object with at least one of sound of the autonomous moving object or a facial expression of the autonomous moving object.

10 . The autonomous moving object according to claim 1 , wherein the motion controlling section is further configured to change a design represented by the light emission pattern, based on the state of the autonomous moving object.

11 . The autonomous moving object according to claim 10 , wherein the design represents at least one of a costume of the autonomous moving object or a coat of hair of the autonomous moving object.

12 . The autonomous moving object according to claim 11 , wherein the motion controlling section is configured to change the coat of hair represented by the light emission pattern, based on a relation between a direction of the coat of hair and a direction in which the autonomous moving object is stroked.

The autonomous moving object according to claim 11 , wherein the motion controlling section is further configured to control at least one of a facial expression of the autonomous moving object or a cry of the autonomous moving object, based on a relation between a direction of the coat of hair and a direction in which the autonomous moving object is stroked.

14 . The autonomous moving object according to claim 1 , wherein

the light emission section includes a plurality of light emitting devices,

the plurality of light emitting devices are on the surface of the autonomous moving object, and

the plurality of light emitting devices are variable in color and brightness.

15 . An information processing method, comprising:
