Claims (20)

1 . A method of treating cancer in a human or animal patient comprising administering to the patient in need thereof an effective amount of a compound having the formula (I):

or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or N-oxide derivative thereof;

wherein the cancer is selected from the group consisting of liver cancers, brain cancers, breast cancers, lung cancers, cervical cancers, and colon cancers.

2 . A method of treating cancer in a human or animal patient comprising administering to the patient in need thereof an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound having the formula (I):

or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or N-oxide derivative thereof, and at least one pharmaceutically acceptable excipient;

wherein the cancer is selected from the group consisting of liver cancers, brain cancers, breast cancers, lung cancers, cervical cancers, and colon cancers.

3 . The method of claim 2 comprising one or more further pharmaceutically active agents.

4 . The method of claim 1 , comprising administering to the patient in need thereof one or more further pharmaceutically active agents.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the cancer is cervical cancer.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the cancer is colon cancer.

7 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the cancer is cervical cancer.

8 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the cancer is colon cancer.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the cancer is brain cancer.

10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the cancer is breast cancer.

11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the cancer is lung cancer.

12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the lung cancer is non-small cell lung cancer.

13 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the cancer is brain cancer.

14 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the cancer is breast cancer.

15 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the cancer is lung cancer.

16 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the lung cancer is non-small cell lung cancer.
