Production method of an aluminum alloy material suitable for use in the food industry
Disclosed is a method for producing aluminum alloy materials suitable for use in the food industry including processing of a liquid metal mixture having strontium in addition to aluminum by the twin roll continuous casting technique.
1 . A method for the production of an aluminum alloy material for use in a food industry, the method comprising:
casting a liquid metal mixture as a coil in a twin roll continuous casting system at a rate of between 50 millimeters per minute and 150 millimeters per minute, the liquid metal mixture having strontium and aluminum therein;
annealing the cast coil;
thinning the annealed coil by cold rolling;
rolling the thinned coil until the thinned coil reaches a final product thickness; and
annealing the aluminum alloy material of the final product thickness.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the liquid metal mixture has an additional material selected from the group consisting of silicon, iron, copper, manganese, magnesium and zinc.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the liquid metal mixture has the aluminum of at least 95% by weight and the strontium of between 0.001% by weight and 0.50% by weight, wherein the liquid metal mixture has an additional component selected from the group consisting silicon, iron, copper, manganese, magnesium and zinc.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the liquid metal mixture is cast at a thickness of between 3 millimeters and 10 millimeters.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of casting is at a temperature of between 660° C. and 710° C.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of annealing the coil is at a temperature of 500° C. and 600° C. for a period of time between 4 hours and 10 hours.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of rolling continues until the thinned coil has a foil thickness of between 0.20 millimeters and 0.40 millimeters.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of rolling continues until the final product thickness is between 0.030 millimeters and 0.20 millimeters.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of annealing the aluminum alloy material is at a temperature of between 300° C. and 450° C. for a period of time between 2 hours and 6 hours.
