Abstract

The present embodiments relate to an improved mobile cooling box with a latch handle module for opening the mobile cooling box, wherein the latch handle module is disposed in a lid for manually locking and unlocking the lid. At one edge the lid is hinged to the box main body so that the lid is pivotable from a closed position to an open position. The latch handle module is integrated in the lid and located at another side edge of the lid, opposite the hinge.

Claims (42)

1 . A mobile colling box, comprising:

a box main body having a bottom and a plurality of walls extending from said bottom, each of said plurality of walls having an upper edge and defining an opening into said box main body;

a floor of said box main body having a lower elevation and an upper elevation within said box main body, said upper elevation located in a position adjacent to vents on an exterior of said box main body;

a freezing zone defined along said upper elevation of said floor, an evaporator disposed beneath said upper elevation of said floor;

a fender frame located at ends of said plurality of walls that define outermost corners of the box main body, each said fender frame extending vertically along said outermost corners;

a lid pivotally connected to said box main body, said lid being movable between an opened position and a closed position, said lid having a first edge and a second edge opposite first edge, wherein a pivotal connection is provided along said second edge by a hinge;

a latch handle module located at said first edge in said lid and configured to respectively manually lock and unlock the lid;

said latch handle module comprising an actuating element which pivots relative to said lid, and a locking element, wherein said locking element is configured to engage a counterpart of the box main body and maintain the lid in said closed position;

said actuating element pivoting relative to the lid by pushing force of a user causing movement of a locking mechanism.

2 . The mobile cooling box of claim 1 , said latch handle module being coplanar with a surface of said lid.

3 . The mobile cooling box of claim 1 , said actuating element pivoting about a shaft, said shaft defining an axis of rotation within said lid.

4 . The mobile cooling box of claim 3 , said actuating element being spring loaded and biased to one position.

5 . The mobile cooling box of claim 1 , wherein one or more of said plurality of walls having air vents.

6 . The mobile cooling box of claim 5 , said air vents positioned on outer surfaces of said one or more of said plurality of walls adjacent to the floor having said upper elevation.

7 . The mobile cooling box of claim 1 , said floor further comprising a liner.

8 . The mobile cooling box of claim 1 , further comprising a user interface on one wall of said plurality of walls.

9 . The mobile cooling box of claim 1 further comprising handle bar and hangers pivotally connect along two opposed walls of said plurality of walls.

10 . A mobile cooling box, comprising:

a box main body having a bottom and a plurality of walls extending from said bottom, and at least one lid for providing access to an inside of the mobile cooling box, at a first side edge the at least one lid is hinged to the box main body so that the at least one lid is pivotable between a closed position to an open position;

wherein one or more of said plurality of walls having air vents;

a floor within said box main body, said floor having a lower elevation and an upper elevation, said air vents adjacent to the floor having said upper elevation;

an evaporator disposed beneath said upper elevation of said floor and defining a freezing zone;

fender frames located at adjacent ends of said plurality of walls that define outermost corners of the box main body, said fender frames extending vertically along said outermost corners to protect said ends of said plurality of walls;

wherein the mobile cooling box further comprises a latch handle module for manually locking and unlocking the at least one lid, the latch handle module disposed in the at least one lid and located near a second side edge of the at least one lid;

wherein the latch handle module comprises an actuating element that is coplanar with a surface of the at least one lid and is manually operable by a user, a locking element that is engageable with a corresponding counterpart located at the box main body in order to lock the at least one lid from being opened, and the actuating element and the locking element being mechanically connected to each other, and,

wherein the locking element disengages with the corresponding counterpart located at the box main body by operating the actuating element by the user;

wherein the actuating element pivots about an axis of rotation defined by a shaft to allow opening the at least one lid.

11 . The mobile cooling box of claim 10 , said actuating element moving upon receiving a pushing force to pivot.

12 . The mobile cooling box of claim 10 wherein the shaft has a longitudinal axis being co-linear with the axis of rotation of the actuating element, the actuating element is connected to and pivotable about the shaft.

13 . The mobile cooling box of claim 10 further comprising a spring to bias the actuating element to one of two positions.

14 . The mobile cooling box of claim 10 , said latch handle module being coplanar with said surface of said at least one lid.

15 . The mobile cooling box of claim 1 , further comprising a user interface on one wall of said plurality of walls.

16 . The mobile cooling box of claim 1 further comprising handle bar and hangers pivotally connect along two opposed walls of said plurality of walls.

17 . A mobile cooling box, comprising:

a box main body having a bottom and a plurality of walls extending from said bottom, each of said plurality of walls having an upper edge and defining an opening into said box main body;

a floor within said box main body, said floor having a lower elevation and an upper elevation, further comprising an evaporator beneath said upper elevation of said floor;

air vents disposed on one or more of said plurality of walls, said air vents adjacent to the floor having said upper elevation;

a fender frame located at joining edges of said plurality of walls that define corners of the box main body, said fender frame extending vertically along said corners;

one or more lids pivotally connected to said box main body, said one or more lids being movable between an opened position and a closed position, each of said one or more lids having a first edge and a second edge opposite first edge wherein said pivotal connection is provided along said second edge by a hinge;
