Image forming apparatus having an opening/closing member that is prevented from closing when a replenishment container is attached to a process unit
An image forming apparatus includes a developer container to and from which a replenishment container is attachable and detachable, the developer container including an accommodating portion, and a supporting portion, wherein the developer container includes a projection portion that is provided at one end portion thereof in the rotation axis direction of the developer bearing member and projects toward the supporting portion more than a center portion of the developer container in a crossing direction crossing the rotation axis direction, the projection portion communicates with the accommodating portion and includes, at a distal end portion thereof, an attachment portion configured such that the replenishment container is attachable thereto in a state of being exposed to the outside of the apparatus, and a replenishment port for replenishing the accommodating portion with developer from the replenishment container is defined in the attachment portion.
1 . An image forming apparatus for forming a toner image on a recording material, the image forming apparatus comprising:
a process unit including:
a photosensitive drum;
a developing roller configured to supply toner to the photosensitive drum; and
a toner accommodating portion configured to accommodate the toner to be borne on the developing roller and provided with an attaching portion;
an apparatus body to which the process unit is detachably attached, the apparatus body including a discharge roller configured to discharge, in a discharge direction, the recording material to an outside of the apparatus body and including an opening from which the attaching portion of the process unit is exposed to the outside of the apparatus body and through which the process unit is not capable of being attached to and detached from the apparatus body;
an opening/closing member configured to rotate, with respect to the apparatus body, between an open position where the opening/closing member opens the opening and a closed position where the opening/closing member closes the opening;
a toner container detachably attached to the attaching portion of the process unit, the toner container accommodating the toner and being exposed from the opening of the apparatus body when the opening/closing member is in the open position;
a display panel in which a button is provided; and
a controller configured to execute a replenishment operation for replenishing the toner accommodating portion with the toner from the toner container,
wherein an execution of the replenishment operation is started based on an operation of the button, and
wherein the attaching portion of the toner accommodating portion is located, in a direction intersecting both the discharge direction and a vertical direction, within a width of a discharge area where the recording material discharged by the discharge roller is stacked.
2 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the replenishment operation can be executed in a state where the opening/closing member is in the open position.
3 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the operation of the button is a touch operation.
4 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the process unit includes an agitation member configured to agitate the toner in the toner accommodating portion, and
wherein while the replenishment operation is being executed, the agitation member is being rotated.
5 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the apparatus body includes a loudspeaker providing notifying information about the replenishment operation.
6 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the apparatus body includes a cover configured to cover the process unit and provided with the opening.
7 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the attaching portion includes:
a replenishment opening through which the toner is replenished to the toner accommodating portion from the toner container by the replenishment operation; and
a shutter configured to open and close the replenishment opening, and
wherein the replenishment operation is executed after a shutter open operation by which the shutter is moved to open in a state where the toner container is attached to the attaching portion of the process unit.
8 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the attaching portion of the process unit is located below the discharge area where the recording material discharged by the discharge roller is stacked.
