Abstract

Various methods and systems are provided for a rotary user interface for a touchscreen display. In one embodiment, a rotary user interface for a touchscreen display comprises: an alignment touchscreen nib; a rotary interface wheel; and a rotary touchscreen nib coupled to the rotary interface wheel and rotatable relative to the alignment touchscreen nib via the rotary interface wheel. The rotary user interface may further include a confirmation touchscreen nib coupled to the rotary interface wheel.

Claims (22)

1 . A system for a touchscreen display, comprising:

a screen protector configured to couple to the touchscreen display and having an aperture;

a rotary user interface include:

an enter key axially movable and having an enter key nib configured to interact with the touchscreen display; and

a knob rotatable relative to the enter key and having a knob nib configured to interact with the touchscreen display, wherein the rotary user interface fits within the aperture.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the screen protector includes a tab for removing the screen protector from the touchscreen display.

3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the rotary user interface includes a collar, wherein the enter key moves axially relative to the collar, and wherein the knob rotates relative to the collar.

4 . The system of claim 3 , wherein the collar includes a bottom surface having adhesive, and wherein the bottom surface is in direct contact with a surface of the touchscreen display.

5 . The system of claim 4 , wherein the screen protector includes grommets disposed proximate the aperture, and wherein the collar includes teeth configured to interact with the grommets.

6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the screen protector includes a plurality of apertures with each of the plurality of apertures being configured to receive the rotary user interface.

7 . A screen protector for a touchscreen display, comprising:

a first face including adhesive for coupling the screen protector to the touchscreen display;

an aperture sized to receive a rotary user interface;

grommets positioned proximate the aperture for coupling the rotary user interface to the screen protector.

8 . The screen protector of claim 7 , wherein the rotary user interface includes:

an enter key axially movable and having an enter key nib configured to interact with the touchscreen display; and

a knob rotatable relative to the enter key and having a knob nib configured to interact with the touchscreen display.

9 . The screen protector of claim 8 , wherein the enter key nib and the knob nib extend through the aperture to interact with the touchscreen display.

10 . The screen protector of claim 8 , wherein the rotary user interface includes a collar, wherein the enter key moves axially relative to the collar, and wherein the knob rotates relative to the collar.

11 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the collar includes teeth configured to interact with the grommets.

12 . The screen protector of claim 7 , further comprising a tab for removing the screen protector from the touchscreen display, and wherein the tab does not include adhesive.

13 . The screen protector of claim 7 , further comprising a second aperture configured to receive a second rotary user interface.
