Abstract

A system and method for electronic health record permissioning and monetization that can grant or deny access to patient data and pay one or more entities for access to the data is presented. The present disclosure provides for a system configured to provide a patient the ability to: ‘grant,’ ‘deny,’ ‘update,’ and ‘revoke’ the permission to read data for a specific entity, and specific properties within that entity, from their personal data records (e.g., an electronic health record, a Global Patient Record (GPR), pharmaceutical records, demographic records, financial records, criminal records, or other suitable personal information). A Data-Read-Permission request can be a ‘Property Collection’ (PC) containing specific properties that describe the read permission rights and an amount the Data-Client is willing to offer for the Data-Read-Permission rights. This PC can be written as part of a blockchain transaction (TX1), which can be issued by the Data-Client.

Claims (42)

1 . A system for permissioning and monetization access request, comprising:

a blockchain storing one or more data records; and

a computer processor operably coupled to the blockchain and capable of executing machine-readable instructions to perform program steps, the program steps comprising:

obtaining a data access request including one or more parameters;

determining whether a data access request template is available, wherein the data access request template is obtained by retrieving the data access request template from the blockchain;

generating, in response to a determination that the data access request template is notavailable, the data access request template, wherein generating the data access request template includes:

generating a permission template that includes requirements of the data access request, the requirements included as a retrieval function and installed on a decrypt server,

obtaining, in response to a determination that the data access request template is available, the data access request template;

populating the data access request template based on the one or more parameters in the data access request;

querying a database for persons matching the one or more parameters in the data access request;

determining, based on a response to the querying of the database, a number of persons matching the one or more parameters in the data access request;

filtering a response to the querying of the database based on additional parameters added to the querying based on the number of persons matching the one or more parameters in the data access request to generate a filtered list of matching persons;

populating the data access request template with a unique identification of persons in the filtered list of matching persons; and

transmit the populated data access request template to the persons in the filtered list of matching persons.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more parameters in the data access request include one or more of healthcare parameters, pharmaceutical parameters, clinical parameters, demographic parameters, time parameters, volume parameters, frequency parameters, or other relevant parameters.

3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the data access request includes a command including one or more of: upload, download, save, retrieve, or another command.

4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein generating the data access request template includes:

including one or more standardized set of fields or parameters based upon the data access request.

5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein generating the data access request template includes:

transforming the data access request into a standardized format processable by the system.

6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the determined number of persons matching the one or more parameters in the data access request is below a threshold, and wherein the additional parameters are configured to widen the number of persons matching the one or more parameters in the data access request.

7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the determined number of persons matching the one or more parameters in the data access request is equal to or above a threshold, and wherein the additional parameters are configured to narrow the number of persons matching the one or more parameters in the data access request.

8 . A method of permissioning and monetization access request, comprising:

obtaining a data access request including one or more parameters;

determining whether a data access request template is available, wherein the data access request template is obtained by retrieving the data access request template from the blockchain;

generating, in response to a determination that the data access request template is not available, the data access request template, wherein generating the data access request template includes:

generating a permission template that includes requirements of the data access request, the requirements included as a retrieval function and installed on a decrypt server;

obtaining, in response to a determination that the data access request template is available, the data access request template;

populating the data access request template based on the one or more parameters in the data access request;

querying a database for persons matching the one or more parameters in the data access request;

determining, based on a response to the querying of the database, a number of persons matching the one or more parameters in the data access request;

filtering a response to the querying of the database based on additional parameters added to the querying based on the number of persons matching the one or more parameters in the data access request to generate a filtered list of matching persons;

populating the data access request template with a unique identification of persons in the filtered list of matching persons; and

transmit the populated data access request template to the persons in the filtered list of matching persons.

9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the one or more parameters in the data access request include one or more of healthcare parameters, pharmaceutical parameters, clinical parameters, demographic parameters, time parameters, volume parameters, frequency parameters, or other relevant parameters.

10 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the data access request includes a command including one or more of: upload, download, save, retrieve, or another command.

11 . The method of claim 8 , wherein generating the data access request template includes:

including one or more standardized set of fields or parameters based upon the data access request.

12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein generating the data access request template includes:

transforming the data access request into a standardized format processable by the system.

13 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the determined number of persons matching the one or more parameters in the data access request is below a threshold, and wherein the additional parameters are configured to widen the number of persons matching the one or more parameters in the data access request.

14 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the determined number of persons matching the one or more parameters in the data access request is equal to or above a threshold, and wherein the additional parameters are configured to narrow the number of persons matching the one or more parameters in the data access request.
