Abstract

In one embodiment, a method includes identifying, by an insurance brokerage accounting system, that a deposit data object in the system is not fully accounted for by one or more statement data objects; identifying, by the system and based on the deposit data object, a potential source location for a potential matching statement data object; determining, by the system, whether a statement exists at the potential source location; and in response to a determination that a statement does exist at the potential source location, then creating, by the system and from the statement, a statement data object in the system.

Claims (49)

1 . A method comprising:

identifying, by an insurance brokerage accounting system, that a deposit data object in the system does not have a data-object relationship in the system to one or more statement data objects in the system that fully account for the deposit data object;

identifying, by the system and based on one or more data-object attributes of the deposit data object in the system, a potential source location external to the system for a ground-truth statement of a potential matching statement data object for the deposit data object;

determining, by the system, whether any ground-truth statement that corresponds to the one or more data-object attributes of the deposit data object exists at the potential source location external to the system; and

in response to a determination that the ground-truth statement does exist at the potential source location external to the system, then creating, by the system and from the ground-truth statement, a statement data object in the system that corresponds to the identified ground-truth statement external to the system.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising importing, by the system, the statement data object into the system.

3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising posting, by the system and based on the statement data object, a corresponding external statement data object to an external accounting system of the brokerage.

4 . The method of claim 3 , further comprising determining, by the system, whether to automatically post the corresponding external statement data object based on one or more of:

a determination that each transaction identified by the created statement data object has been applied to a policy; and

an intervention rate in the insurance brokerage accounting system associated with one or more attributes of the created statement data object.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein:

identifying, by the system and based on one or more data-object attributes of the deposit data object in the system, a potential source location for a potential matching statement data object comprises identifying, based on an association in the system between (1) the one or more attributes of the deposit data object and (2) a particular set of authentication credentials for accessing a particular secure website of a carrier, the particular set of authentication credentials; and

determining, by the system, whether the statement exists at the potential source location comprises:

accessing, by the system and using the particular set of authentication credentials, the secure website of the carrier; and

determining, by the system and after accessing the secure website of the carrier, whether a statement that corresponds to the one or more data-object attributes of the deposit data object exists on the secure website that has not been previously loaded into the system.

6 . The method of claim 5 , further comprising:

determining, prior to accessing the secure website of the carrier, a multi-factor authentication code associated with the carrier; and

automatically providing the multi-factor authentication code in order to access the secure website of the carrier.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein identifying, by the system and based on one or more data-object attributes of the deposit data object in the system, a potential source location for the ground-truth statement and determining, by the system, whether the statement exists at the potential source location comprises: determining whether the ground-truth statement is contained within a ground-truth document containing a ground-truth deposit that corresponds to the deposit data object.

8 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising naming, by the system, the created statement data object based on one or more naming attributes associated with an external accounting system of the brokerage.

9 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising creating, by the system, a data-object relationship in the system between the created statement data object and the deposit data object.

10 . A system comprising:

one or more non-transitory computer readable storage media storing instructions; and one or more processors coupled to the one or more non-transitory computer readable storage media and operable to execute the instructions to:

identify that a deposit data object in an insurance brokerage accounting system does not have a data-object relationship in the system to one or more statement data objects in the system that fully account for the deposit data object;

identify, based on one or more data-object attributes of the deposit data object in the system, a potential source location external to the system for a ground-truth statement of a potential matching statement data object for the deposit data object;

determine whether any ground-truth statement that corresponds to the one or more data-object attributes of the deposit data object exists at the potential source location external to the system; and

in response to a determination that the ground-truth statement does exist at the potential source location external to the system, then create from the ground-truth statement a statement data object in the insurance brokerage accounting system that corresponds to the identified ground-truth statement external to the system.

11 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising one or more processors that are operable to execute the instructions to import the statement data object into the insurance brokerage accounting system.

12 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising one or more processors that are operable to execute the instructions to post a corresponding external statement data object to an external accounting system of the brokerage.

13 . The system of claim 12 , further comprising one or more processors that are operable to execute the instructions to determine whether to automatically post the corresponding external statement data object based on one or more of:

a determination that each transaction identified by the created statement data object has been applied to a policy; and

an intervention rate in the insurance brokerage accounting system associated with one or more attributes of the created statement data object.

14 . The system of claim 10 , wherein:

identifying, based on one or more data-object attributes of the deposit data object in the system, a potential source location for a potential matching statement data object comprises identifying, based on an association in the insurance brokerage accounting system between (1) the one or more attributes of the deposit data object and (2) a particular set of authentication credentials for accessing a particular secure website of a carrier, the particular set of authentication credentials; and

determining whether the statement exists at the potential source location comprises:

accessing, using the particular set of authentication credentials, the secure website of the carrier; and

determining, after accessing the secure website of the carrier, whether a statement that corresponds to the one or more data-object attributes of the deposit data object exists on the secure website that has not been previously loaded into the system.

15 . The system of claim 14 , further comprising one or more processors that are operable to execute the instructions to:

determine, prior to accessing the secure website of the carrier, a multi-factor authentication code associated with the carrier; and

automatically provide the multi-factor authentication code in order to access the secure website of the carrier.

16 . The system of claim 10 , wherein identifying, based on one or more data-object attributes of the deposit data object in the system, a potential source location for the ground-truth statement and determining whether the statement exists at the potential source location comprises: determining whether the ground-truth statement is contained within a ground-truth document containing a ground-truth deposit that corresponds to the deposit data object.

17 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising one or more processors that are operable to execute the instructions to name the created statement data object based on one or more naming attributes associated with an external accounting system of the brokerage.

18 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising one or more processors that are operable to execute the instructions to create a data-object relationship in the system between the created statement data object and the deposit data object.

19 . One or more non-transitory computer readable storage media storing instructions that are operable when executed by one or more processors to:

identify that a deposit data object in an insurance brokerage accounting system does not have a data-object relationship in the system to one or more statement data objects in the system that fully account for the deposit data object;

identify, based on one or more data-object attributes of the deposit data object in the system, a potential source location external to the system for a ground-truth statement of a potential matching statement data object for the deposit data object;

determine whether any ground-truth statement that corresponds to the one or more data-object attributes of the deposit data object exists at the potential source location external to the system; and

in response to a determination that the ground-truth statement does exist at the potential source location external to the system, then create from the ground-truth statement a statement data object in the insurance brokerage accounting system that corresponds to the identified ground-truth statement external to the system.

20 . The media of claim 19 , further comprising instructions that are operable when executed to post a corresponding external statement data object to an external accounting system of the brokerage.
