Abstract

Gaming systems and methods that provide a multi-feature accumulation that enables the accumulation of different triggers for different types of features including the accumulation of award amount triggers, the accumulation of free activation triggers, and the accumulation of free activation quantities.

Claims (74)

1 . A gaming system comprising:

a housing comprising an access door;

a security monitoring circuit supported by the housing that monitors the access door and that causes a signal to be sent to a remote server when the access door is opened;

a plurality of output devices comprising a display device supported by the housing;

a plurality of input devices comprising a plurality of input buttons mounted on a deck supported by the housing and a touch screen input device supported by the housing and operable with the display device;

a processor supported by the housing; and

a trusted memory device coupled to one or more sensors and supported by the housing and structured to provide a gaming regulatory authority a root trusted authority that can be tracked and verified as original, the trusted memory device storing a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:

cause a display, by the display device, of different award amounts;

cause a display, by the display device, for each of the different award amounts, of an indication of a quantity of award amount triggers that need to be accumulated to trigger the award amount;

cause a display, by the display device, of different free activation sets;

cause a display, by the display device, for each of the different free activation sets, of an indication of a quantity of free activation triggers that need to be accumulated to trigger the free activation set;

cause a display, by the display device, for each of the different free activation sets, of an indication of an initial quantity of free activations of the free activation set;

cause a display, by the display device, of masked tiles;

cause a display, by the display device, of a multi-feature accumulation comprising sequential selections of the masked tiles until, for one of the free activation sets, the quantity of free activation triggers that need to be accumulated to trigger the free activation set are accumulated, and wherein the selection of each masked tile results in one of:

a display, by the display device, of an indication of an award amount trigger for one of the award amounts and an indication of an accumulation of that award amount trigger for that award amount, and

a display, by the display device, of an indication of a free activation trigger for one of the free activation sets and an indication of an associated quantity of free activations to be accumulated for that free activation set, an indication of an accumulation of that free activation trigger for that free activation set, and an indication of an accumulation of that quantity of free activation for that free activation set; and

detect via the one or more sensors one of a plurality of tampering events, and responsive to detecting said tampering event, cause the trusted memory device to be one of cleared and erased.

2 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the award amounts are different progressive award amounts.

The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein, when executed by the processor, the instructions cause the processor to continue the multi-feature accumulation after displaying, for any of the different award amounts, an accumulation of the quantity of award amount triggers that need to be accumulated to trigger that award amount.

The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein, when executed by the processor, the instructions cause the processor to continue the multi-feature accumulation after displaying, for each of the different award amounts, an accumulation of the quantity of award amount triggers that need to be accumulated to trigger that award amount.

5 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein a plurality of the quantities of free activations respectively associated with the free activation triggers are different.

6 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the quantities of award amount triggers that need to be accumulated to trigger each of the plurality of the award amounts are the same.

7 . The gaming system of claim 6 , wherein the quantities of free activation triggers that need to be accumulated to trigger each of the plurality of the free activation sets are the same.

8 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the quantities of free activation triggers that need to be accumulated to trigger each of the plurality of the free activation sets are the same.

9 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the quantities of award amount triggers that need to be accumulated to trigger each of the plurality of the award amounts are the same as the quantities of free activation triggers that need to be accumulated to trigger each of the plurality of the free activation sets.

10 . A gaming system comprising:

a housing comprising an access door;

a security monitoring circuit supported by the housing that monitors the access door and that causes a signal to be sent to a remote server when the access door is opened;

a plurality of output devices comprising a display device supported by the housing;

a plurality of input devices comprising a plurality of input buttons mounted on a deck supported by the housing and a touch screen input device supported by the housing and operable with the display device;

a processor supported by the housing; and

a trusted memory device coupled to one or more sensors and supported by the housing and structured to provide a gaming regulatory authority a root trusted authority that can be tracked and verified as original, the trusted memory device storing a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:

cause a display, by the display device, of different award amounts;

cause a display, by the display device, for each of the different award amounts, of an indication of a quantity of award amount triggers that need to be accumulated to trigger the award amount;

cause a display, by the display device, of different free activation sets;

cause a display, by the display device, for each of the different free activation sets, of an indication of a quantity of free activation triggers that need to be accumulated to trigger the free activation set;

cause a display, by the display device, for each of the different free activation sets, of an indication of an initial quantity of free activations of the free activation set;

cause a display, by the display device, of masked tiles;

cause a display, by the display device, of a multi-feature accumulation comprising sequential selections of the masked tiles until, for one of the free activation sets, the quantity of free activation triggers that need to be accumulated to trigger the free activation set are accumulated, and wherein the selection of each masked tile result in one of:

a display, by the display device, of an indication of an award amount trigger for one of the award amounts and an indication of an accumulation of that award amount trigger for that award amount,

a display, by the display device, of an indication of a free activation trigger for one of the free activation sets and an indication of an accumulation of that free activation trigger for that free activation set, and a display, by the display device, of an indication of an indication of a quantity of free activations to be accumulated for that free activation set and an indication of an accumulation of that quantity of free activations for that free activation set; and

detect via the one or more sensors one of a plurality of tampering events, and responsive to detecting said tampering event, cause the trusted memory device to be one of cleared and erased.

11 . The gaming system of claim 10 , wherein the award amounts are different progressive award amounts.

12 . The gaming system of claim 10 , wherein, when executed by the processor, the instructions cause the processor to continue the multi-feature accumulation after displaying, for any of the different award amounts, an accumulation of the quantity of award amount triggers that need to be accumulated to trigger that award amount.

13 . The gaming system of claim 10 , wherein a plurality of the quantities of free activations respectively associated with the free activation triggers are different.

14 . The gaming system of claim 10 , wherein the quantities of award amount triggers that need to be accumulated to trigger each of the plurality of the award amounts are the same as the quantities of free activation triggers that need to be accumulated to trigger each of the plurality of the free activation sets are the same.

15 . A gaming system comprising:

a housing comprising an access door;

a security monitoring circuit supported by the housing that monitors the access door and that causes a signal to be sent to a remote server when the access door is opened;

a plurality of output devices comprising a display device supported by the housing;

a plurality of input devices comprising a plurality of input buttons mounted on a deck supported by the housing and a touch screen input device supported by the housing and operable with the display device;

a processor supported by the housing; and

a trusted memory device coupled to one or more sensors and supported by the housing and structured to provide a gaming regulatory authority a root trusted authority that can be tracked and verified as original, the trusted memory device storing a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:

cause a display, by the display device, of first progressive award amount;

cause a display, by the display device, of an indication of a first quantity of first award amount triggers that need to be accumulated to trigger the first progressive award amount;

cause a display, by the display device, of a second progressive award amount;

cause a display, by the display device, of an indication of a second quantity of second award amount triggers that need to be accumulated to trigger the second progressive award amount;

cause a display, by the display device, of a first free activation set;

cause a display, by the display device, of an indication of a third quantity of first free activation triggers that need to be accumulated to trigger the first free activation set;

cause a display, by the display device, of a second free activation set;

cause a display, by the display device, of an indication of a fourth quantity of second free activation triggers that need to be accumulated to trigger the second free activation set;

cause a display, by the display device, of masked tiles;

cause a display, by the display device, of selections of the masked tiles until one of: the third quantity of first free activation triggers are accumulated for the first free activation set, or the fourth quantity of second free activation triggers are accumulated for the second free activation set, and

wherein the selection of each of a plurality of the masked tile results in one of:

a display, by the display device, of an indication of the first award amount trigger for the first award amount and an indication of an accumulation of that first award amount trigger for the first award amount,

a display, by the display device, of an indication of the second award amount trigger for the second award amount and an indication of an accumulation of that second award amount trigger for the second award amount,

a display, by the display device, of an indication of the first free activation trigger for the first free activation set and an indication of an associated quantity of free activations to be accumulated for that first free activation set, and an indication of an accumulation of that first free activation trigger for the first free activation set, and

a display, by the display device, of an indication of the second free activation trigger for the second free activation set and an indication of an associated quantity of free activations to be accumulated for that second free activation set, and an indication of an accumulation of that second free activation trigger for the second free activation set; and

detect via the one or more sensors one of a plurality of tampering events, and responsive to detecting said tampering event, cause the trusted memory device to be one of cleared and erased.

16 . The gaming system of claim 15 , wherein the first, second, third, and fourth quantities are the same.

17 . The gaming system of claim 15 , wherein the first and second quantities are the same, the third and fourth quantities are the same, and the first and second quantities are different than the third and fourth quantities.

18 . The gaming system of claim 15 , wherein the award amounts are different progressive award amounts.

19 . The gaming system of claim 15 , wherein, when executed by the processor, the instructions cause the processor to continue the multi-feature accumulation after displaying, for any of the different award amounts, an accumulation of the quantity of award amount triggers that need to be accumulated to trigger that award amount.

20 . The gaming system of claim 15 , wherein, when executed by the processor, the instructions cause the processor to continue the multi-feature accumulation after displaying, for each of the different award amounts, an accumulation of the quantity of award amount triggers that need to be accumulated to trigger that award amount.
