Abstract

An electric work vehicle includes a chassis, a battery housing to house a plurality of battery modules, a cooling structure mounted to a front portion of the battery housing, and an inverter. The battery housing is supported by the chassis. The cooling structure includes a fan mounted at a front portion of the cooling structure. The fan is rotated by an electric motor powered by the inverter.

Claims (33)

1 . An electric work vehicle comprising:

a chassis;

a battery housing to house a plurality of battery modules, the battery housing being supported by the chassis;

a cooling structure mounted to a front portion of the battery housing;

an outer cover that covers the battery housing and the cooling structure; and

an inverter, wherein

the cooling structure includes a fan mounted at a front portion of the cooling structure;

the fan is rotated by an electric motor powered by the inverter;

the outer cover includes at least one side opening located on a side portion of the outer cover;

the at least one side opening defines an air intake; and

a foremost edge of the at least one side opening is located forward of a foremost surface of the battery housing in a front-rear direction of the electric work vehicle.

2 . The electric work vehicle according to claim 1 , wherein the cooling structure includes a condenser.

3 . The electric work vehicle according to claim 2 , wherein the fan is located forward of the condenser in a front-rear direction of the electric work vehicle.

4 . The electric work vehicle according to claim 2 , further comprising a radiator.

5 . The electric work vehicle according to claim 4 , wherein the radiator is located between the condenser and the fan.

6 . The electric work vehicle according to claim 4 , wherein the condenser is located between the battery housing and the radiator.

7 . The electric work vehicle according to claim 1 , wherein the cooling structure includes a drier attached to the front surface of the battery housing.

8 . The electric work vehicle according to claim 7 , wherein the drier is located at a side of the fan in a width direction of the electric work vehicle.

9 . The electric work vehicle according to claim 1 , wherein:

the outer cover includes at least one front opening located on a front portion of the outer cover, and

the at least one front opening defines an air outlet.

10 . The electric work vehicle according to claim 9 , wherein a portion of the at least one front opening partially extends onto at least one side portion of the outer cover.

11 . The electric work vehicle according to claim 1 , wherein the fan blows air out of a front portion of the electric work vehicle.

12 . The electric work vehicle according to claim 1 , wherein the fan is operable to direct air in a forward direction out of a front surface of the electric work vehicle.

13 . The electric work vehicle according to claim 1 , wherein a primary airflow direction of the fan is a same or substantially a same direction as a forward traveling direction of the electric work vehicle.

14 . The electric work vehicle according to claim 1 , further comprising at least one mounting bracket that mounts the cooling structure to the battery housing.

15 . The electric work vehicle according to claim 1 , further comprising at least one mounting post that mounts the cooling structure to the chassis.

16 . The electric work vehicle according to claim 1 , wherein

the battery housing includes an upper portion and a lower portion;

the upper portion of the battery housing overlaps and extends beyond the lower portion of the battery housing in a width direction of the electric work vehicle.

17 . The electric work vehicle according to claim 16 , wherein

in a front view of the electric work vehicle, the cooling structure overlaps at least a portion of the upper portion of the battery housing; and

in a front view of the electric work vehicle, the cooling structure overlaps at least a portion of the lower portion of the battery housing.
