Image processing apparatus, method for controlling image processing apparatus, and recording medium
Image processing apparatuses have a unit for registering settings in applications or a unit for registering application settings on a portal screen, but do not allow these units to function in a coordinated manner. For example, if a user who frequently uses a certain application registers settings of the application, the settings may also be useful to other users. However, users who mainly use their own portal screens cannot invoke the settings. Settings of an application registered as a shared custom button are automatically registered as frequently used settings in the application. Similarly, settings registered as frequently used settings in an application are automatically registered as a shared custom button.
1 . An image forming apparatus comprising:
one or more processors; and
one or more memories storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the image forming apparatus to:
display a home screen capable of displaying a copy button corresponding to a copying function and a fax button corresponding to a fax function, on a display unit of the image forming apparatus;
display history information related to an executed job, on the display unit, wherein the history information includes a first history corresponding the copying function and a second history corresponding to the fax function, and the first history is automatically registered to the history information based on an execution of the copying function and the second history is automatically registered to the history information based on an execution of the fax function;
select the first history included in the displayed history information;
receive a user instruction to register a set of setting values corresponding to the selected first history for a first function;
determine whether the set of setting values corresponding to the selected first history is registered for a second function different from the first function; and
register the set of setting values corresponding to the selected first history for the second function in a case that it is determined that the set of setting values corresponding to the first function is not registered for the second function.
2 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the first history included in the history information is selected by a user operation on the home screen.
3 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the home screen including the copy button, the fax button and the history information is displayed on the display unit.
4 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the first history and the second history included in the history information can be deleted by the user.
5 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein, as the history information, only history information of a login user who is currently logging in the image forming apparatus is displayed.
6 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein
in a case where the copy button is selected, a setting screen of copy is displayed, and
the setting screen of copy includes a color setting item.
7 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein a button is displayed on a predetermined screen in a case where the set of setting values corresponding to the first history is registered for the second function, the predetermined screen is different from the home screen.
8 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 7 , wherein the predetermined screen is displayed in a case when an object displayed on a copy screen is selected.
9 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 8 , wherein the instructions further cause the image forming apparatus to:
cause the display unit to display the set of setting values corresponding to the first history based on a selection of the displayed button.
10 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein another button is displayed on the home screen in a case where the set of setting values corresponding to the first history is registered for the first function.
11 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 10 , wherein the instructions further cause the image forming apparatus to:
start a copy application based on the set of setting values corresponding to said another button.
12 . An image forming method in an image forming apparatus, the image forming method comprising:
displaying a home screen capable of displaying a copy button corresponding to a copying function and a fax button corresponding to a fax function, on a display unit of the image forming apparatus;
displaying history information related to an executed job, on the display unit, wherein the history information includes a first history corresponding the copying function and a second history corresponding to the fax function, and the first history is automatically registered to the history information based on an execution of the copying function and the second history is automatically registered to the history information based on an execution of the fax function;
selecting the first history included in the displayed history information;
receiving a user instruction to register a set of setting values corresponding to the selected first history for a first function;
determining whether the set of setting values corresponding to the selected first history is registered for a second function different from the first function; and
registering the set of setting values corresponding to the selected first history for the second function in a case that it is determined that the set of setting values corresponding to the first function is not registered for the second function.
13 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program, wherein, when executed by a computer, the program causes an image forming apparatus to perform an image forming method comprising:
displaying a home screen capable of displaying a copy button corresponding to a copying function and a fax button corresponding to a fax function, on a display unit of the image forming apparatus;
displaying history information related to an executed job, on the display unit, wherein the history information includes a first history corresponding the copying function and a second history corresponding to the fax function, and the first history is automatically registered to the history information based on an execution of the copying function and the second history is automatically registered to the history information based on an execution of the fax function;
selecting the first history included in the displayed history information;
receiving a user instruction to register a set of setting values corresponding to the selected first history for a first function;
determining whether the set of setting values corresponding to the selected first history is registered for a second function different from the first function; and
registering the set of setting values corresponding to the selected first history for the second function in a case that it is determined that the set of setting values corresponding to the first function is not registered for the second function.
