Abstract

A mesh decoding device 200 according to the present invention includes a circuit, wherein the circuit: subdivides a base mesh and output an initial subdivided mesh; calculates a normal for each vertex forming the initial subdivided mesh; and adjusts a subdivided mesh by dividing a subdivided face after moving a position of the vertex forming a face of the initial subdivided mesh.

Claims (22)

1 . A mesh decoding device comprising a circuit, wherein

the circuit:

subdivides a base mesh and output an initial subdivided mesh;

calculates a normal for each vertex forming the initial subdivided mesh; and

adjusts a subdivided mesh by dividing a subdivided face after moving a position of the vertex forming a face of the initial subdivided mesh.

2 . The mesh decoding device according to claim 1 , wherein

the circuit calculates a subdivided vertex normal in a base face based on a total value of base point normals defined for each base point which is a vertex forming the base face in the initial subdivided mesh.

3 . The mesh decoding device according to claim 1 , wherein

the circuit calculates a subdivided vertex normal in a base face based on a total value of normals of base faces adjacent to the base face in the initial subdivided mesh.

4 . The mesh decoding device according to claim 1 , wherein

the circuit uses a same normal as normals of a base point and a subdivision point which are vertices in a base face in the initial subdivided mesh.

5 . The mesh decoding device according to claim 1 , wherein

the circuit uses already calculated normals as normals of a base point and a subdivision point in a case where the normal of the base point and the normal of the subdivision point in a base face in the initial subdivided mesh have already been calculated in a decoding order.

6 . A mesh decoding method comprising:

subdividing a base mesh and outputting an initial subdivided mesh;

calculating a normal for each vertex forming the initial subdivided mesh; and

adjusting a subdivided mesh by dividing a subdivided face after moving a position of the vertex forming a face of the initial subdivided mesh.

7 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a program for causing a computer to function as a mesh decoding device, wherein

the mesh decoding device includes a circuit, and the circuit:

subdivides a base mesh and output an initial subdivided mesh;

calculates a normal for each vertex forming the initial subdivided mesh; and

adjusts the subdivided mesh by dividing a subdivided face after moving a position of the vertex forming a face of the initial subdivided mesh.
