Abstract

A method comprises receiving, by a wireless device, a first physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) order initiating a random access procedure associated with early timing advance acquisition procedure of a layer 1 and/or 2 triggered mobility (LTM) procedure. The method further comprises, based on the first PDCCH order, setting a preamble power ramping counter (PPRC) to an initial value, and transmitting a first preamble via the first candidate cell, with a first power. The method further comprises receiving a second PDCCH order, and transmitting, with a second power determined based on increasing the PPRC by one, a second preamble via the first candidate cell, based on: a first field of the second PDCCH order indicating the first candidate cell and a second field of the second PDCCH order indicating a retransmission.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the wireless device transmits the second preamble via the first candidate cell, with the second power determined based on increasing the PPRC by one, regardless of whether the first PDCCH order and the second PDCCH order indicate a same preamble or not.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the wireless device transmits the second preamble via the first candidate cell, with the second power determined based on increasing the PPRC by one, regardless of whether the first PDCCH order and the second PDCCH order indicate a same physical random access channel (PRACH) mask index or not.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the wireless device transmits the second preamble via the first candidate cell, with the second power determined based on increasing the PPRC by one, regardless of whether the first PDCCH order and the second PDCCH order indicate a same uplink/supplementary uplink (UL/SUL) indication or not.

8 . A wireless device comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:

receive a first physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) order initiating a random access procedure associated with early timing advance acquisition procedure of a layer 1 and/or 2 triggered mobility (LTM) procedure, wherein the first PDCCH order comprises:

a first field indicating a first candidate cell; and

a second field indicating an initial transmission;

set a preamble power ramping counter (PPRC) to an initial value; and

transmit a first preamble via the first candidate cell, with a first power;

receive a second PDCCH order; and

transmit, with a second power determined based on increasing the PPRC by one, a second preamble via the first candidate cell, based on:

a first field of the second PDCCH order indicating the first candidate cell; and

a second field of the second PDCCH order indicating a retransmission.

9 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the instructions cause the wireless device to:

receive an LTM cell switch command medium access control control element (MAC CE) indicating a triggering of the LTM procedure for the first candidate cell; and

based on receiving the LTM cell switch command MAC CE, switch a primary cell of the wireless device from a serving cell to the first candidate cell.

10 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein:

the wireless device receives the first PDCCH order or the second PDCCH order via a source cell; and

the source cell is a serving cell different from the first candidate cell.

11 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the instructions cause the wireless device to, after transmitting the second preamble, skip monitoring a random access response (RAR) for the second preamble in a RAR window, based on the random access procedure not comprising monitoring the RAR.

12 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the wireless device transmits the second preamble via the first candidate cell, with the second power determined based on increasing the PPRC by one, regardless of whether the first PDCCH order and the second PDCCH order indicate a same preamble or not.

13 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the wireless device transmits the second preamble via the first candidate cell, with the second power determined based on increasing the PPRC by one, regardless of whether the first PDCCH order and the second PDCCH order indicate a same physical random access channel (PRACH) mask index or not.
