Symmetric transmit opportunity (TXOP) truncation
A mobile terminal configured to send and receive communications to and from a network device. Send a first control message requesting to send uplink data. Receive, from the network device, a second control message indicating a transmission opportunity for the mobile terminal to send the uplink data to the network device, wherein the transmission opportunity comprises a transmission duration over frequency resources. In response to receiving the second control message, send, to the network device, the uplink data during the transmission opportunity. Receive, from the network device, downlink data and a third control message. In response to receiving the third control message, send to the network device, a fourth control message requesting an acknowledgement. Receive, from the network device, a fifth control message comprising an identification associated with a plurality of wireless devices including the mobile terminal and an indication of a cancellation of the transmission opportunity.
1 . A method for a mobile terminal, the method comprising:
sending, to a network device, a first control message requesting to send uplink data;
receiving, from the network device, a second control message indicating a transmission opportunity for the mobile terminal to send the uplink data to the network device, wherein the transmission opportunity comprises a transmission duration over frequency resources;
in response to receiving the second control message, sending, to the network device, the uplink data during the transmission opportunity after a brief time period;
receiving, from the network device, downlink data;
receiving, from the network device, a third control message comprising an end-of-transmit-opportunity (EOT) indication associated with a final data frame of the downlink data;
in response to receiving the third control message, sending, to the network device, a fourth control message comprising a contention-free end (CF-end) frame, wherein a basic service set identifier (BSSID) field of the CF-end frame includes an identifier of the network device such that the CF-end frame is specific to the network device and avoids collisions between multiple network devices transmitting CF-end response frames; and
receiving, from the network device, a fifth control message comprising an identification associated with a plurality of wireless devices including the mobile terminal, and an indication of a cancellation of the transmission opportunity.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the network device is a base station.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of wireless devices includes wireless devices that cannot receive a transmission from the wireless device that is permitted to transmit for the transmission opportunity.
