Abstract

A communication device may execute a specific wireless communication of object data via a first wireless network with a mobile device using a second type of interface after executing a specific process of sending a first wireless setting for causing the mobile device to belong to the first wireless network using a first type of interface in a first case where the communication device operates in a first state which is a parent station state or a child station state in the first wireless network and execute the specific wireless communication of the object data with the mobile device using the second type of interface after executing another process different from the specific process in a second case where the communication device operates in a second state which is different from the first state.

Claims (38)

1 . A communication device comprising:

a first wireless interface configured to execute wireless communication according to Wi-Fi standard;

a second wireless interface different from the first wireless interface, wherein a communication speed of a wireless communication via the second wireless interface is lower than a communication speed of a wireless communication via the first wireless interface;

a processor; and

a memory that stores computer-readable instructions therein, wherein the computer-readable instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the communication device to:

shift an operation state of the communication device from a child station state of a first wireless network according to the Wi-Fi standard to a specific state different from the child station state in a case where a first wireless connection with a second external device is established via the second wireless interface under a predetermined state, the child station state being for operating as a child station of the first wireless network according to the Wi-Fi standard,

the predetermined state being a state where the communication device is participating, as the child station, in the first wireless network according to the Wi-Fi standard in which a first external device different from the second external device is a parent station, and

the first wireless network being for executing a wireless communication via the first wireless interface,

wherein the child station of the first wireless network according to the Wi-Fi standard is capable of receiving, from the parent station, data including information of a network layer of an OSI reference model and sending, to the parent station, data including information of the network layer of the OSI reference model.

2 . The communication device as in claim 1 , wherein the computer-readable instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the communication device to:

determine whether the communication device is capable of disconnecting from the first wireless network, in the case where the first wireless connection with the second external device is established via the second wireless interface under the predetermined state,

wherein in a case where it is determined that the communication device is capable of disconnecting from the first wireless network, the operation state of the communication device is shifted from the child station state to the specific state.

3 . The communication device as in claim 2 , wherein

it is determined that the communication device is not capable of disconnecting from the first wireless network, in a case where data communication is being executed via the first wireless network or data communication is to be executed via the first wireless network.

4 . The communication device as in claim 2 , wherein the computer-readable instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the communication device to:

send, via the second wireless interface to the second external device, information indicating that it is not capable of communicating, in a case where it is determined that the communication device is not capable of disconnecting from the first wireless network.

5 . The communication device as in claim 1 , wherein the computer-readable instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the communication device to:

establish a second wireless connection with the second external device via the first wireless interface after the operation state of the communication device has been shifted from the child station state to the specific state.

6 . The communication device as in claim 5 , wherein the computer-readable instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the communication device to:

shift the operation state of the communication device from the specific state to a parent station state after the operation state of the communication device has been shifted from the child station state to the specific state,

wherein the second wireless connection with the second external device via the communication device is established after the operation state of the first wireless interface has been shifted from the specific state to the parent station state.

7 . The communication device as in claim 6 , wherein the computer-readable instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the communication device to:

send, via the second wireless interface to the second external device, wireless settings for the second external device to establish the second wireless connection with the communication device after the operation state of the communication device has been shifted from the specific state to the parent station state.

8 . The communication device as in claim 1 , wherein

the second wireless interface is a Near Field Communication (NFC) interface.

9 . The communication device as in claim 1 , wherein

the child station state is a client state of Wi-Fi Direct (WFD), and

the specific state is a device state of WFD.

10 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing computer-readable instructions for a communication device,

the communication device comprising:

a first wireless interface configured to execute wireless communication according to Wi-Fi standard;

a second wireless interface different from the first wireless interface, wherein a communication speed of a wireless communication via the second wireless interface is lower than a communication speed of a wireless communication via the first wireless interface; and

a processor,

wherein the computer-readable instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the communication device to:

shift an operation state of the communication device from a child station state of a first wireless network according to the Wi-Fi standard to a specific state different from the child station state in a case where a first wireless connection with a second external device is established via the second wireless interface under a predetermined state, the child station state being for operating as a child station of the first wireless network according to the Wi-Fi standard,

the predetermined state being a state where the communication device is participating, as the child station, in the first wireless network according to the Wi-Fi standard in which a first external device different from the second external device is a parent station, and

the first wireless network being for executing a wireless communication via the first wireless interface,

wherein the child station of the first wireless network according to the Wi-Fi standard is capable of receiving, from the parent station, data including information of a network layer of an OSI reference model and sending, to the parent station, data including information of the network layer of the OSI reference model.
