Abstract

The present disclosure relates to novel and advantageous treatments for foliar disease. Particularly, the present disclosure relates to novel and advantageous treatment compositions and methods for applying such treatment compositions for controlling, treating, or preventing for foliar disease in trees and shrubs. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to novel and advantageous treatment compositions and methods for applying such treatment compositions comprising flutriafol for controlling, treating, or preventing for foliar disease in trees and shrubs wherein the treatment may be done via soil application.

Claims (28)

1 . A method of treating, controlling, or preventing soil or foliar disease in established trees or shrubs, the method comprising:

applying a treatment composition to the soil around an established tree or shrub,

the treatment composition comprising:

0.25 to 5 g ai per foot of shrub height or 1.25 to 5 g ai per inch of trunk diameter at breast height of flutriafol,

a second fungicide selected from the group consisting of a demethylation inhibitor, a broad-spectrum fungicide, and combinations thereof, and

wherein the method does not include applying flutriafol as a foliar spray.

2 . The method of claim 1 , the treatment composition further comprising an adjuvant, an insecticide, soil amendments, a biostimulant, a growth regulator, a microbial treatment, a fertilizer, and combinations thereof.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the unit of treatment composition is between 25 ml and 1 gallon per foot of shrub height or inch of trunk diameter at breast height.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein treatment composition comprises between 10 to 40 ml of 500 g/L concentrate diluted with 960 to 990 ml water to make a 5 to 20 g/L treatment composition.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the treatment composition is applied at a rate of 125 ml to 250 ml per inch of diameter at breast height.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein applying the treatment composition comprises drenching the soil with the treatment composition.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein applying the treatment composition comprises injecting the soil with the treatment composition.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein applying the treatment composition is done in the spring.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein applying the treatment composition is done in the fall.

10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the treatment composition is applied at a first rate in the fall and a second rate in the spring.

11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the treatment composition is applied at a first rate of 1.25 to 5 ml/DBH inch delivered in 125 to 250 ml solution/DBH inch in the fall and a second rate of 1.25 to 5 ml/DBH inch delivered in 125 to 250 ml solution/DBH inch in the spring.

12 . A method of treating, controlling, or preventing foliar disease in established trees or shrubs, the method comprising:

treating an established tree or shrub with a soil application of a treatment composition comprising 500 g/l of flutriafol and a second fungicide selected from the group consisting of a demethylation inhibitor, a broad-spectrum fungicide, and combinations thereof,

wherein the treatment composition is delivered at a rate and the treatment composition is injected into the soil, and

wherein the method does not include applying flutriafol as a foliar spray.

13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the rate is 2.5 ml/DBH inch to 10 ml/DBH inch.

14 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the rate is 0.5 ml to 10 ml per foot of shrub height.

15 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the treatment composition is delivered in the fall and again the following spring.

16 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the treatment composition is delivered a first time in the fall at a first rate and a second time in the spring at a second rate.

17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the first rate is 1.25 to 5 ml/DBH inch delivered in 125 to 250 ml solution/DBH inch and the second rate is 1.25 to 5 ml/DBH inch delivered in 125 to 250 ml solution/DBH.

18 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the treatment composition is delivered a first time in the spring and a second time a year later in the spring.

19 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the flutriafol moves systemically from the roots to treat, control, or prevent the foliar disease.

20 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the treatment composition is split into a first portion and a second portion with the first portion being applied in the fall and the second portion being applied in the spring.
