Abstract

A process for continuous manufacturing of semi-finished products incorporating at least one electronic device ( 5 ) positioned between two strips ( 10, 14 ) of elastomeric material, each of the strips being extruded, includes: extruding a first strip ( 10 ) of elastomeric material, depositing the electronic device ( 5 ) on the first strip, extruding a second strip ( 14 ) of elastomeric material and depositing it on the first strip ( 10 ), exerting a force on the second elastomer strip ( 14 ), cutting the strips ( 10, 14 ) of elastomeric material incorporating the electronic device ( 5 ), and then storing the cut-out strips. Each of the strips ( 10, 14 ) of elastomeric material is hot-extruded, and the electronic device ( 5 ) is held in place on the first strip ( 10 ) of elastomeric material in the longitudinal direction by a means for holding it in place.

Claims (20)

1 . A process for continuous manufacturing of semi-finished products comprising at least one electronic device communicating by radiofrequency positioned between two strips of elastomeric material, each of the strips being extruded, the process comprising:

extruding a first strip of elastomeric material;

depositing the at least one electronic device on the first strip;

extruding a second strip of elastomeric material and depositing it on the first strip;

exerting a force on the second strip;

cutting the first and second strips comprising the at least one electronic device; and then storing the cut-out strips,

wherein each of the strips of elastomeric material is hot-extruded,

wherein the at least one electronic device is held in place on the first strip in a longitudinal direction by a means for holding in place, and

wherein the first strip and/or the second strip comprises a continuous groove for receiving the at least one electronic device, the continuous groove extending in the longitudinal direction of the first strip and/or of the second strip.

2 . The process according to claim 1 , wherein the strips of elastomeric material are extruded at a temperature of approximately 100° C.

3 . The process according to claim 1 , wherein the means for holding the electronic device in place comprises a magnet means.

4 . The process according to claim 1 , wherein the force exerted on the second strip is between 25 and 200 Newtons inclusive.

5 . The process according to claim 1 , wherein the first and second strips each have an identical or different chemical composition.

6 . The process according to claim 1 , wherein the first and second strips each have an identical or different geometric shape.

7 . The process according to claim 1 , wherein the first strip has a width of between 8 and 20 mm inclusive.

8 . The process according to claim 1 , wherein the second strip has a width of between 6 and 10 mm inclusive.

9 . The process according to claim 1 , wherein the continuous groove has a width of approximately 2 mm.

10 . The process according to claim 1 , wherein the continuous groove has a depth of approximately 1mm.

11 . A semi-finished product obtained by the process according to claim 1 .

12 . A tire comprising at least one semi-finished product according to claim 11 .
